Enjoy! :D

And from this weekend, Riley's brother Sid and Sealy were showing closeby at Rock Island, so I went out to watch. Sealy won both his classes in agility (novice) and earned legs towards titles. Sid took a group 1 in the herding group. Here are a couple pictures of Sid in the ring:

Good Lord, these kids are adorable. Perfect age, too - starting to explore the world, yet still kind of moving en masse, the socializing, and Riley looks happy to be done with her nursing duties.

Nice clips!

jazz

oh thank you for posting those videos, possibly the cutest ever! I'll show my youngest boy in the morning, he's going to love seeing those puppies playing

congrats!!!!!!!!! I cant wait till my border collie starts to compete in agility and discdog! :crazy02:

Jeez, Connie, those dogs are way too cute for their own good...or mine for that matter. That's the first thing in a while that's made me say "AWWWWWWW." Congrats on the healthy puppies and their beautiful mother.

Those puppies are wayyyyy too cute. Thanks for sharing the videos with us. It's fun to see updates pics of Riley and the kids.

Well, this weekend is THE weekend for deciding on who the "keepers" will be. So I should know who is coming home with mom to join the clan. :D Riley and company should be returning the first weekend in June. Seems like it's been forever!

:)

Do you have a fave? Or are you really, really trying to wait until you see them up close? If you're going to show, it makes sense to get your hands on them first. But it must be so hard not to fall in love with them all....

My Fave girl is in my avatar, but I'm really waiting on the "official evaluations"...aka a bunch of breeders getting together and evaluating each pup one by one.

I dont care what you say that pink nose is AWESOME! THey look like they are doing well. Sid is Excellent, and if I were in the market for a saweet dog Id hit you up for one.

Josh

Looks like they're all ready for the bench, what with the (presumably) liver treats.

Of the "blue girls" that you'll be choosing - based on looks alone, my favorites are 2 and 4. I especially like that "sash" that 2 is wearing, but 4 looks like she's got some spirit in her.

And no, Chuck, I said "spirit". No capitalization. :grin01:

Well, with the 7 week evaluation we weeded down the show prospects and have 4 that will go to pet homes this week:

Black Girl - total package just not there for show, but her new owner will make up for that 100 fold. He's already got his vet picked out, puppy classes all set up, and has been doing his research before getting his first dog. (New couple, new house) She's going to live like a queen. :D

Blue Girl 3 - Much too soft to make it in the show world, though nice body. Her earset it too low, couple that with her soft personality and she looks like she has "hound ears" and she's too soft to raise them in ring. Really too bad, she's a good looking puppy, but she'll make someone a very very loving pet.

Blue Girl 4 - Was my favorite, but structurally she's just not there. Her neck is too short, she's upright in the shoulders with her forelimbs placed too far forward, giving her no chest. She's also straight in the rear, so she's balanced, but will be short strided. I'm very sad because other than being a blue merle, she looks just like Riley. She probably won't be a show dog, but she'll be a great pet. :) We'll recheck her in a week before placing her as a pet.

Blue Boy 2 - Too long in the loin, will be too weak backed to carry off his rear movement properly, which may lead to a slight roach to his stance when he moves. A nice puppy, but I don't want a weak topline/back for a breeder. He'll be a pet.

Blue Boy 3 - Great puppy, but his white collar goes too far back past his withers, which will disqualify him in show. Otherwise he's show quality, but will be a pet.

So that leaves us with:

Blue Girl 1 - cute, but I'm not really into the wide blazes and my friend (who owns the stud that is marked just like this puppy) will probably want to keep her as her pick from Tye.

Blue Girl 2 - pick girl pup, conformationally. Her color is a little iffy, though less iffy now. When she was born, her big splotches were very dilute instead of black. They're closer to black now and will probably end up just fine.

Blue Boy 1 - Pick pup, he has awesome angulation, sound conformation, is very striking and has that "look at me" attitude. I know, I know, I know I wanted a blue girl, but I'm finding it very hard to choose one of the girls over this puppy. Right now, I can't fault him anywhere. We'll see how they look in another week (8 weeks is actually perfect evaluation time).

Blue Boy 4 - A nice moderate dog (in a good way) and will make a nice show pup. He's pick #2 of the boys and is going to a nice show home with a lady who has Riley's brother, Sealy.

But of course. :)

Oh, and it's cheese, not liver. Nice and easy on puppy tummies and keeps their interest, but doesn't overexcite them on the table. :grin01:

I can't stop staring at that shot of Blue boy #3. I like his white chest.
Looking forward to week 8 pictures :)

And some "Getting Ready for Bath Day" pics...
