Awesome! I used to find mantids out at LCP all the time when I'd go herping. Congrats on the babies and good luck with the one you're keeping. Have you asked the entomology department if they might want a specimen?

No, I haven't. I don't know who to ask. No one in my lab needs a mantis, but someone is working with walking sticks.
 
Thanks for sharing!! I remember being a kid and collecting them. I would just let them go once they hatched because I didn't know what to feed them. I remember one time just when i was setting them free. I wanted to some how mark one so that I would know that is was one of mine. I ended up smashing it under the tip of a marker. I never did that again.
