This site is TERRIBLE!

No, General Chit Chat is the worst. I _know_ someday I'd like to have a Bloodred, and a Candycane. Ok- Corns taken care of. But what about a Mexican Black Kingsnake? A Florida Kingsnake? OMG, have you seen the recent pics of them? Luckily I am sticking to small- and am immune to boids. Some friend pawns a hoggy off on me- all of the sudden I have to have more- different! I just glance at VMS- next thing you know- Inez! Don't look at the Chihuahua Mountain Kings whatever you do! And then there's the Ratsnake Parade. Everyday a more beautiful example. And on and on and on! All my closets are full of books and clothes I'll never wear- I can't fill one with 55 snakes! And even if I could- I _enjoy_ being able to spend two hours watching Grey's Anatomy with Choco. if I had a closet full of snakes- they wouldn't be getting individual attention like that.

Danger, danger.

Welcome to my world....my snake room just keeps getting more crowded!!!

... and it's looking more and more like I'll have a "snake house" and a "people room." I just keep feeding the addiction and telling myself, "It isn't crack. I can stop any time I want." :grin01:

I used to think that was the case.

Try being the Welcome Wagon to the new neighbors who have around 170 snakes. You find yourself going over uninvited, walking the two blocks just to say hi.....to the Z morph, the hypo pewter, and the charcoal aztec. It's one thing to drool over them as jpegs; it's something completely different to see 'em up close and personal like.

Harrumph. :headbang:

jazz
Sure, Dale, just keep rubbing it in!

Well, except maybe the evil rootbeer that keeps biting me.

Jenn (We are DONE for the year... come on, there's only 1 month left, we have to resist! Not fair that Christmas is in those last 31 days though...)
I agree with you 100%, Jenn... so I'll say it again... ship that ugly little anery over to me... no one will see him eeeeeeeeeeeeever... hmmm.... promise? :D

I'm afraid I have to agree. When I first came here, I had ONE king snake and ONE corn snake, and didn't plan on getting any more. Now my wish list is as long as my arm and still growing.

Ditto that. And I've posted about this very topic in the past, but no one cared! In fact, they just urged me to give in to my dark desires and purchase more and more snakes! The nerve of them!!! :grin01:

mine too! my snake room is my bedroom...pretty soon my bed will have to go to make room for the snakes!

Sounds like someone I know... * looks for Trevor then ducks and runs * One should never throw stones at glass houses.. I only have ten or so in the bedroom at this time.. * I think * Um, what about the damn hall way closet then? Nope.. Its full now and then some..

Regards.. Tim of T and J * pssst I do have a few for sale though ... *

I've only got one in the bedroom right now. And only because it's in quarantine. Otherwise it would be in the snake room leaving more room for yet another for quarantine.....

holy cow... keep my name up there :) He definitely needs to stay with you. I don't have that kind of harem for the him.

You know what's kind of nice- when you have some snake's pic saved and look at it every day, and then the infatuation wears off and you can think about some other snake. I think my hypomelanistic hondo infatuation has worn off.

You must be one of the lucky ones. I look at a single snake's picture over and over again and I keep thinking which of our current ones it could be paired up with and that just makes me want it more. Then I go and look and the critters and think of that snake which triples the need to have it. It's a never ending cycle I think... None of the usual 10-12 step programs work with the snakes - I still want a dozen or two more but am trying to hold onto my resolve... unforuntely I think my resolve is made of sugar because it keeps melting when I look at the photos of snakes I really like...

I'm what you could call a hopeless case...

Jenn

(PS, your at the top of the list Weebonilass, I'll post you pics as they grow to remind you! lol)

Well, it's only happened for me once, and it took about a month and a half, only. I had Inez's pic up since summer, though, and finally got her October 30th. Once they're here- of course I just get more and more attached!

Maybe my infatuation with the HH didn't wear off as much as she moved down The List a few spots.

I know EXACTLY what you people are talking about.
I was perfectly happy with my rootbeers, amel and bloodred/fire pair that I completely lucked into. They ended up being better genetically than I could have imagined. Also there was the three "might be cool normals but very easily could be motley bloods" that I had no plan to breed anytime soon....that I hatched last year.

Then I saw an incredible pair of normals that were het lav, hypo and diffused AND 50% het for anery, charcoal and amel that Chuck had for sale. I HAD to have them. I emailed him about them but he was busy so I didn't hear from him for about a week. He felt bad about not contacting me sooner and offered to send a spare female along for free, making it a trio. What could I say?? It was one more than I had room for but.....I love them and in time hope to get a diffused hypo lav thingy out of breeding them. Of course who knows how many keepers might come from such a genetically diverse trio? :)

Then I was at Kathy's site. She had a pair of bloods I just had to have.....to prove out the possible motley bloods. You know, the ones I wasn't planning on breeding anytime soon..... but.......what's 2 more?

Other than that I have behaved myself but its sooooo hard! And I am running out of room FAST!! :)

Well, I was going to say at least you're only infected with corns, but I can see from your sig that's not true...

But the corns and rats have turned out to be my very favorite critters. When the others pass from old age, that will be it. I will probably get even more corns! :) Corn snakes are the BEST reptile to me (besides what's in my sig, I have also kept garter snakes, ball pythons, desert kings, and a grey band king and a cali king).
And as much as I love dogs and cats, I honestly love rats more. They are MUCH better pets than people give them credit for. So far I have had 6 and every personality has been different. I just wish they lived longer.

That's pretty much how I feel about pigeons!
