Unhatched or dud eggs: how do you do dispose of and/or recycle them?

I know it might seem like a strange question but I wondered... what do you do with an egg that has died or doesn't hatch? What is the proper disposal method?

Can it be recycled back into nature somehow, like say, put into a composter where it can become food for other creatures? This seems like a planet friendly thing to do although I am not sure where/how one would do that as we can't put meat into our composters here. It seems a shame to let all those rich nutrients go to waste.

The idea of breeding snakes/reptiles is quite intreguing to me so I'm reading a a lot and asking silly questions before I even consider it.

We like to boil them up, add some mayonnaise, salt and pepper and use them for snake egg salad sandwiches. uke01: JK.
We just throw them in the trash although composting them would be a great idea as well.

In order for me to give up on a Corn egg, it has to have pretty much disintegrated and be riddled with mould - only fit for the bin and definitely not suitable food for another snake! If I didn't live in an upstairs flat, a compost heap might be an idea.

Composting is NOT a good idea. Composting breaks down plant material, not proteins. Short of feeding them to your dog, you'd be better off simply throwing them away.
