you can read the debate here. I just wanted to respond and say that Brazilians are indeed born red, not brown. Colour variance doesn't rule out being Brazilian though, but read the linked post for all reasons for and against it being this or that sub-species. I stick by my theory of it being freshly brewed 100% pure columbian coffee. Or something like that.

I know what she is: an eating machine! :grin01:

I fed her for the second time last night. Excellent response. I had the mouse in the tongs, a little off the floor, and she launched herself at it, latched on and flipped up the rest of her body to coil around the tongs, in mid air. It was pretty cool, only wish I'd got a picture. :grin01:

Thanks for all your replies so far guys.

I posted this on the other thread as well but I am thinking that this is a Argentinian Rainbow Boa, over a CRB or a BRB.

I know what she is....Campina Grande Rainbow Boa. I researched into this for you and im almost deffinatley sure thats the right locality! Not often for sale in the UK though so you got a lovely locality rare rainbow boa :)

Thanks Elle. You might be on to something there. If you're right though, I'm a tad disappointed that this subspecies seems not to grow beyond 4ft. I really wanted a slightly larger snake. But eh. Such is life.

Mind you. Whatever she is she's a cute little thing. Funny thing happened last night - I pulled out her tub to give her a quick spray. Her tail was sticking out of the bedding - she'd obviously been burrowing down - and a few drops hit her tail. Tail disappeared and her head popped up instead, doing the defensive 'S' shape. Unfortunately for her, her frightening display was rather ruined by the blob of water on the end of her nose... she looked put out when I laughed instead of recoiling in terror :grin01: :sidestep:

EDIT: Elle, I think you're right. I've done some digging and pulled up some pictures of this locality... they really do look a lot like my Willow. As I say, I'm not happy about the size, but I am VERY happy that this seems to be an uncommon subspecies. Adding a little unusual stock to one's collection is always good. ;)
