UTH on the side?

88 will be ok until you can get a dimmer, like everyone said they run 10 to 15 depending on where you go. I have one of those dial dimmers wired to my flexwatt and I LOVE it. For a uth though you want the kind you plug the uth into, I think its called a table lamp dimmer.

Yeah, I think 88 should be okay temporarily, but I would definitely get a dimmer...88 is usually the point where I turn mine down a bit. You want to have a bit of a buffer zone so that it doesn't shoot up to like, 95 if the temperature in your house were to rise, especially since it's almost summer now. You'll want the table top lamp dimmer like carnivorouszoo said...I think mine were about $10 each at Home Depot. Amazon sells them too. :)

you can buy a light dimmer(the type that is meant to by put in the wall of your house)and then get a dollar store extension cord and wire the dimmer to it and then you have a home made rheostat for like $5.

I'm glad I found this thread, because I too am getting my tank ready for a new babe this summer so looks like I'll be making a trip to HD!!!!! Happy Dance!!! :crazy02::dancer::dancer::dancer::crazy02:
