Vermiculite or Sphagnum Moss?

It's probably best if you qualify this so the inexperienced are not confused.

"Pure" vermiculite is the same.....but many garden shops will sell vermiculite that's treated and/or mixed with fertilizers, antifungals, and other minerals.

You definitely don't want to use that as an incubation medium.

jazz

Jazz is very correct so whenever you buy vermiculite asked for the natural stuff (Not treated and/or mixed with fertilisers)

It is probably cheaper to buy it from garden centres/shops and you can buy it in bulk.

Good Luck.

Aw honey... I'm apologize. I must have stepped out of single file line. My childish mind must have gotten away from me. My puny insignificant (yet somehow well on its way) childish life... how it gets the best of me! What will I ever do with myself?

In the name of childishness, it seems that I was the one trying to settle the matter privately, instead of bombarding other threads with this disagreement. And yet here is my PM, being aired over a public post. All in the wake of what was intended to be a private matter between us, so as best to save the time of others. Cries of horrendous "threats" and injustices! I hear bugles! Viva la revolution!

However sarcastic I may be, I must admit that I am actually offended. As a child, I should throw a fit right? You aren't the first high & mighty pompous pain in the sacrum that I have crossed paths with, and you sure as hell won't be the last. So as an adult, I will continue my life and forget you without consequence.

However, being the kind hearted person that I am, I feel the need to leave you with some friendly advice... might want to stay away from all that parasite ridden and fungal infested moss. I hear that sh*t just tends to grow on sh*t. :)

In the meantime, I am off to tend to my hatchlings. The poor dears... their seed was sown in such a "horrible cesspool!"

For a 19 year old, you speak pretty eloquently. But that may be grounds to start picking on you... especially since you speak of just exiting childhood. And I'm sure your experience must be vast, your 1st post on the UK forums being made in april of this year:

Hey,
A newbie from Bristol, UK.
I have an amel, snow and about 30 eggs!

Congrats on the 1st clutch by the way! Consider the soon-to-be forming line for your experienced advice starting with me. :)

Good luck at the U of WE. Universities can be hard. I have seen many a person crumble under the stress. I was one myself. Keep at it. I'm sure you'll get there.

Google doesn't seem to be such a "stupid" little site now, does it?

Wow Jynx I wish you had ended on a slightly sourer note so that I could say WHOULD YOU JUST SHUT UP and have a slightly better effect, but I think this'll do.

Why don't you leave the modding to the mods, Turner. This isn't helping.

No more crap in this thread, ok? It doesn't seem fair to the original poster to lock it, but if it's just going to be a playground...

Sorry dean, I guess I was just getting tired of this too.
I understand. :)

Anyway, I'm going to lock this thread. I'll unlock it if the original poster requests it, but with the vast amount of laying and incubation medium data that already exists on this site, I don't see why it would be necessary.
