What are some cute things your corn does?

I got Baliss out whilst dad was going to do some work on the viv to repair it and took him to my room where it was quite. I placed him on the bed and he made a little bed for himself within my quilt. It was so cute i laid on the bed beside him and relaxed whilst dad was working. I feel asleep for little while. when i woke up i panicked thinking that he could have gotten anywhere i could have rolled on him ect. Turns out he had fallen asleep jut like i had and neither of us had moved so when i woke up he was still in his bed, so had to take a picture :) :)

I've done that once or twice XD When I wake up I put her back in her home and then go for a proper sleep 8'D

just had my other corn out for a little while and it wasn't exactly cute but made us giggle soo much. we have only had our corns over a week. Mum handled Flame and passed him too dad as he was a bit jealous cos he hasn't held them since Sunday. mum past him over and the first thing he did was cuddle in his jumper and go loo. :)

My little Anery Silver like to redecorate her viv.... Shes only about 4.5 months old, but she's strong.... moves the paper towel tube into the styrofoam cup then curls up in there, no matter how aften I put them back to a warm side and cool side, she moves them again and again.

I wanted to hold Crictor, so I took him out. Checked my email; saw I had a notification that someone posted to this thread. Meanwhile he is just hanging out in my hand, the only snake put of four to do this. I take a pic, upload, type all one-handed just so I could keep holding him yet post to this thread. I am so glad he does this sometimes!!!

My Silver does that all the time, just curls up into my hand and goes to sleep....

Please pardon a naive new snake owner question...how can you tell when a snake is asleep? My girl often weaves and loops around my fingers well and just chills.

This is something I took note of in the late 1960's-70's when I first started working with snakes. When at rest (sleep), if their heads are visible near the enclosure side, you will notice their pupils drooping down and forward slightly (almost cross-eyed). Then if you very slowly move your hand close to them and wiggle it, you will instantly see the pupil perck back up to it's normal position. This of course allows them to notice prey and preditor movement, even when at rest so they can instantly be aware of it and react if needed.

cheers, ~Doug

That is SO interesting! I've often wondered about this, because they don't have eyelids. I'll have to sneak in on my snakes when I think they're sleeping. The only thing is that they generally sleep under their hides, so me picking the hide up would probably wake them up.

HAHA!!,.....yes, getting snakes to do ANYTHING when you "want" them to, is often virtually impossible as most of us already know.

It definitely has to be caught at the right place at the right time to notice this. When you ever see it right against the cage plastic or glass is when it is possible to see of course. Any other scenario and they will be aware of your presence and all bets are immediately off.

good luck with it!

Just when you think you've seen your corn at their cutest they pull stunts like this...

Stig was out and about last Friday and wanted to be on the chair, then he burrowed under the blanket.

After that he found my scraps bin and had a blast burrowing in it! I wish I could have gotten a picture of when he first found it, the purple was really showing off his glorious yellow.

Better watch out or I might be next at this rate : P

BEHAVOIR

My baby spends a lot of time in his clear Tupperware bowl. He had his head up on the lip of the cut-out and I asked him what he was looking at me for, and he came further up out of the hide. My corns seem to have a very distinct way of "begging" when they're looking for handouts, and he sure was begging today :licklips: I said, "You want food then?" and he came further out, but then I said "Too bad, you were just fed yesterday. I'll give you cuddles though, if you want cuddles." of course he slid back inside and hasn't come out since

What do your corns do to show personality? Anybody have any "posh" corns that think YOU'RE the pet?

My corn snake refuse to poop in her viv. 3 days ater feeding she is out looking for me to take her into the tub, she loves the water. I cant figure out how she can tell when 3 days comes.

I could swear my little guy poses for the camera, i really could. Apparently this little Diva must be in all photos that ever exist - i try to take a photo of him stomach and he'll shove his head in the way. He photobombs himself.

He also like to stick out his tongue a lot whenever the camera is near, resulting in a lot of weird looking photos...

He was the same when he was younger too - i took him into the garden once and he was sat just opposite me (with a friend) and i took my camera out to photograph the ground (a friend wanted a picture of the floors texture for her course). I could swear he saw the camera and headed straight for it.
