What do your corns do to live up to their names?

Stormy

Keeper of scaley things.
I know some of us on here have some pretty interesting names for their snakes. I am wondering what they do or have done to live up to or to have gotten these names to begin with.

I have two snakes, though only one is living up to its name of Foamy. He was named after the squirrel on illwillpress.com and boy is he doing a good job of it.
First up, I have had him for about a week now so I tried feeding him. no luck, even after trying to closed bin in a dark room method. Instead he musked all over the bin, the mouse, and himself. I guess he really wanted to show me who is boss.
Next, today I look in on him. And hes moved is hide box on the cool side so it is now IN the water dish, which by the way is now empty because he insists on hiding under it. Right now all I can see of him is his lil head poking out from under the dish watching me. And this isnt the first time hes done it either. I know if I had gotten him as a baby he would have been a little hateling. Now, he is just Foamy.

I've got a Charcoal named Smokey, for obvious reasons. A Bloodred named Joker because his head pattern looked like an evil clown. Alice is my Butter Motley because her color reminds me of the cartoon Alice in Wonderland. I also have an Amel Motley named Sixx...like Nikki Sixx. The rest are just random names that I like...

Well I kinda gave my snake a corney name. I don't know I thought of it and it stuck. His name's Cornflake, and my dad said it fits him well, since the markings on his back look like cornflake cereal.
I should of named him sneaky. I swear he knows when he's being naughty, He'll try and sneak to the top of his tank even though he can't reach it, since he isn't very big, and when ever he sees me come in the room he'll stop in mid air then wait for me to turn around and go back to the bottom. I'd say it's just his normal instincts, making him hide, but he seems to only do this when he's trying to get to the top. Probably just a coincidence, but I find it to be cute and funny. :)
Or I could call him fatty considering how excited and hyper he gets during feeding. :p

Attitude musks, rattles, bites & is generally an ornery little hateling. My other 2 came to me with names.

Well my snake was named Sam, but I have called him Mr. Grumpy Pants pretty much consistently since I got him... and he lives up to that by striking me when I try to pick him up. And when I hold him. And rattling his tail at me when he eats.
He's funny. What a character!

My hypo motley girl, Akasha, likes to bite.

I'd say she lives up to her name pretty well. (Akasha being a character from the vampire chronicles)

Most of my snakes are named "Snake" (maybe I should work on that).

But i DO have a butter named, you guessed it, "Butters". Fits him perfectly as he is our dorky snake. We laugh at him all the time, in fact, he isn't in any breeding plans for the next couple of years and we (at least once a night) walk by him and laugh at 'the poor boy who isnt going to get any'. He also is the ONLY one that has had problems with his shed. He is DEFINITELY a Butters.

Well.. i use to call my little one ''bacon strip" because he looks like a strip of raw bacon..then i just decided to name him Bartholomew...barthi for short :D i really dont know why ...maby cause my name is Abraham?

Well, I usually name my pets based on how they look, but when I originally decided to get a snake I wanted to come up with a cute snakey name. I was planning to get a nice dark snake and call it "Severus Snake" because I love Harry Potter, but then a butter corn caught my eye and I had to have him. So I named him Kaa, after the snake in the Jungle Book, because it seemed more fitting for a lighter colored snake. Fortunately, he doesn't act like Disney version of Kaa. ;)

My other snake I named Georgia because she's bright orange like a Georgia peach. She actually lives up to her name very well because she acts like a dainty southern belle, she's very calm and gentle and I can just imagine that she would speak in a southern accent if she could talk.

My MBK is a character and we named him Demon. He actually isn't mean, but he has this peculiar habit of always do this when we pick him up. It's not aggressive. It's more of an, "I'm hungry" response.

Ha these stories are great. And people think snakes dont have personalities. (Yes I have had people tell me this)

Lets see mine are named for what their colors remind me of a lot of the colors correspond to foods also lol here are some of the names. (all end in vowels also)

Chedda (like Chedder Cheese)
Raya (Like Rays of the Sun)
Terra (terra cotta the clay pots)
Zea (Zea maize = the botanical name for corn)
Tabasco (like the hot sauce)
Neo (like neapolitan ice cream)

Fuzzy and Noodle are mine, and I named them more because I thought they were names that reflected a little of my humor/sarcasm etc, and the snakes have yet to tell me their names are something else.

Tara came to us already named.

Hank was supposed to be Tank, but KJHawk decided that he looked more like a Hank than anything else.

They all definitely have different personalities, they're just like people. If you only have just one, you can't appreciate the subtle differences between them. Must have MORE :D

Some of my mine are such characters that they hafta have a descriptive type name. Kissy will not hesitate to bite me given a chance.
One favorite I had before, I named Cobra, because he would pick up his meal and eat it while raised up in the classic cobra pose.

My snake is named Ray. I've owned this snake since May of last year, but I've worked with him since he was a hatchling at the store where I work. I don't remember when he came in exactly, but suffice it to say I've had contact with this snake for over a year and probably close to a year and a half. I had never really given him a name, because nothing came to me (but I did toy with the name Severus Snake! LOL). Well, his name was written on him the whole time and I just noticed it about a month or so ago!

Lol! Sweetseraph, that's so neat! I wish all pets were that easy to name... Haha.

I've only really named three of my snakes for their personalities... Monster, Despereaux, and Lucy(fer).

Monster was a complete hateling from the moment she hatched out. Sadly, she no longer lives up to her name... She tamed down and now she's more docile than some of my adults!

Despereaux (as in Despereaux Tillings, the fictional mouse that knows no fear) was a very docile sweetheart right out of the egg. She continues to live up to that, being one of my easiest, most laid-back snakes to handle.

Lucifer, or Lucy for short, is my Taiwan Beauty. She was dubbed such when she decided my hand was food the night we got her (my first snake bite. Ouch). She lives up to her name very well, too--she still has that "kill first, check if it's edible later" attitude she came to me with... Lol.

I have one named Puppy, and she's puppy-dog tame. Then there's Hydra, who seems like she has several heads, she's so fast and likes to strike when I open her tub.

My ghost girl is named Peipi. I believe it sounds weird to you, but to a "finnish mouth" it suits very well!

Peipi and a English word "Baby" are pronounced almost exactly the same. So, she is a Baby! :D
