I dont know if my snake has went to the bathroom or not, Im sure it has, I just dont know what to look for.

It looks like bird poop. White and brown and liquidy :grin01:. Mine almost always "hide" it under the shavings or behind the thermomiters that sit in their vivs.

Be wary of those "water poopers" !! (Grin)

Some corns will deposit their waste in their water bowls. The smell is......

Not pleasent !

It doesn't happen all the time...just something for a new "corner" to be aware of :) Really important to get the water bowl replaced when-if it does happen.

I change the water everyday. I used distilled water. it always gets the substrate in the water (Aspen), but havent found no poop yet.

Chester is famous for this.... :puke01: especially when I'm in a hurry or had one too many beers the night before. It's like an 'in-your-face' present.

Sometimes Cassy's poop is not all liquidy. It does look like bird poop, but sometimes it seems to have bigger pieces in it. Does this mean, she did not digest it properly and the food item was too big? (It does not smell)

Snake poo takes many forms. It can look like bird poop, dark brown with white or yellow when fresh, or if you find it dried looks like a chalky, distorted hairball. Once you find it you'll know immediately, it can't be mistaken for anything else. And if in doubt, use the smell test. :puke01:

And another quick note..

I wouldn't think distilled water would be good for any animal to drink on an exclusive basis. It would work in a pinch, but not for anything long term. It lacks electrolytes and minerals necessary to bodily functions, and can leach minerals from the animal itself.

People use distilled water for ironing, chemical uses, and cleaning because it doesn't have any minerals or chemicals to interfere with those types of applications.

If you're worried about tap water (as most Americans are these days and have reason to be) let your snake drink bottled spring water. Chemical free and has all the nutritive qualities it should.

Mine drinks the water out of my triple osmosis unit, and has had no problems at all. Our local water has chloramines in it which are fatal to fish and reptiles, and it also has so much other junk in it (it's from wells) that I don't even let my dogs drink it.

The yellow is urates. The shape of the poo reflects the shape of her intestines. It wouldn't hurt to take it in for a parasite check and grams stain. It also wouldn't hurt to wait and see what you get with a couple normal meals. See if she does that all the time, or if it's just a fluke.
