Bijou has had this odd lump for about a month now, and I'm not sure what it is or what it's from. It's not a feeding lump as she hasn't been fed for 13 days and has defecated since being fed. (Haven't fed her to see if the lump will go away or not.) It isn't hard, or very solid feeling it's pretty squishy. It feels like an air/liquid blob and can be "smoothed out." Other than the lump she seems pretty normal, moves fine, eats, and poops. So what the french, toast!? :uhoh:

Wow, there I have seen alot of "bulges" on snakes. You wont know what it really is untill you take the snake to a vet, ASAP.
 
The lump/bulge has reduced significantly and is hardly noticeable now. I have no idea what it is/was and don't have the money to make a visit to the vet currently. She has made a few more small poops, nothing out of the ordinary that they are small and there are multiples, maybe she was just a little backed up? I will keep watching and hold off on feeding for another week, then see what happens.

I understand about the Vet. Keep us updated, see how everything turns out. And its a good thing the lump had reduced in size. That could mean its getting better.

About 4 years ago my favorite okee developed the same identical thing. I watched the lump for a week and when it did not resolve on its own, I took the snake to a reptile specialist (vet). After X-rays, fecal smears, antibiotic tube pushes, and all sorts of other test, it was determined to be a renal carcinoma. She made it another 4 months before complete renal failure took her. Like your little one, mine seemed fine at first, but slowly began to drop weight and become less active. Sorry to lay this story on you, but I would seek a good reptile specialist soon.

While I hope that this is not the case, it sounds like if it were, there wouldn't be much I could do for her. Most of my monthly bills are due the middle of next week. After I get those squared away, I'll make a call to the only vet in town that does exotics to see what the cost of a fecal smear and an x-ray would run me.
