Just because Hoggies a rarer where you are doesn't mean there will be an automatic market for them.... It may be that people are not as fond of them, so suppliers don't source them very often....
When ever Hoggies come into the shop they tend to hang around for ages, where as Corns are being sold all the time....
The same goes for Kingsnakes.... They aren't popular either...
So it's different fashion trends in different places IMO...
Which ever you choose I'm sure you will like it and be perfectly happy....

Yes! see...great point. I KNOW i would be able to give away a clutch of cornsnakes (if it care to that) but seeing the reaction (or lack of) this pair gets on the forum really speaks to how 'popular' they are.

if he still has them when I go in for saturday, i'll have a look. If not, then I guess it wasn't meant to be. I have wanted hoggies for quite a while, and really pepper's thread kind of convinced me! lol... I like a challange. and it would be really interesting to have a snake that isn't so easy going. I like a little personality.
I have the space, and I have the feeders...and I have the money. Sometimes when I make a plan, I find it hard to change it. I'd planned on two hatchling corns, and then this second opportunity comes up...and even though its almost perfect in every way (location, age, size, species, price) I hesitate.
now...the next step is convincing my b/f we need a two bedroom apartment so that I can build a rack... i'm lucky he's fallen hard for the slithery little guys. he doesnt want one of his own, but he enjoys mine.
