In any case, does it bother you to walk outside if they are flying overhead? Have you always been afraid of them?
 
It's hard for me to be at the beach, that's for sure. And I get a lot of gackles that cluster in my yard. When they're out there, I refuse to go to the mailbox, and if I drive up and they're out there, I run REALLY FAST into the house! *shudder* I'd put Violet out to chase them, but the little thing has gotten so chubby she'd probably break a hip. ;)
