I think he/she is a Red-Back Salamander but I don't know and if anyone knows please help:)

Sorry for the small pictures I thought I had them to be full sized but they are not:\

Can't really tell what kind they are in the picture but cool find. I used to find atleast 5 under ever log I'd flip, now I could look all day and not find any.

If it is a red back, it's huuuuuuuge!

Aha! Looking at the pictures it's definitely not. These are red back salamanders. (I got these in my backyard.)

I'm not sure what kind your salamander is though, sorry I can't be more help.

I don't know what it could be as it was about 3 inches long and a yellow belly..
I'll just go and try to find another one and get a few more pictures.

3 inches long
give or take

That is why I don't think it is a red-back plus I can't find anything that looks like it(except the lead backed morph).
When I went to th woods all I found was this little guy

How cool! When I was a kid in Mass. we used to find those brown striped salamanders. What are they called?

(Weird how, 40 plus years later, I still don't know what they are...lack of curiousity?)

That last one could be a Northern Spring Salamander? Maybe?

The closest thing to the first one I could find was the Northern Dusky Salamander.

I'm thinking its a Northern Red Salamander or a Eastern Mud Salamander.I think the Northern Red for its looks but the Eastern Mud for where I found it.I'm leaning towards the Northern Red Though.
I wish we had salamanders up here, all we have are wood frogs.
Awwwww sorry, at least you have frogs.

It really could be.....

I pulled out my handydandy field guide and I'd have to say thats a Northern Red Salamander, Joe...Excellent find :*)

Found another one today that is a little baby and gray with a tail like a tadpoles....
Well anyway I will try to get motivated to het a video and or slideshow.

Congrats... beautiful species you have found.

On that note I hope they were released. Taking from the wild disrupts natural populations. :)
