This made me LOL A LOT Nanci! Very true! Only problem would be egg binding....
 
You guys need to remember that a lot of women do not find the hemipene to be a problem. Some even find it to be something to be sought after. Not to get too personal but there was a time when your mothers thought is was OK, at least once.

LOL! At my age, no "monthly visitor". I'd be put up for sale as a "past it" old ex-breeder, and probably go for cheap as someone's pet. Never would I have to deal with a male or his hemipene again :).

Wade, I'm thinkin' that the human race would have gone extinct long ago if male "pene"s looked like a snake's! Certainly, my mother wouldn't have gone anywhere near it. Not even once :).
 
okay...don't want to repost the photo from that '05 thread, but i have to ask

the third photo in the thread that Nanci linked to...SERIOUSLY!? that's what it looks like? i honestly thought they were like, 1/4 the size of that. and had NO idea they were so elaborate. do they insert the pene, and then unravel the whole thing once it's already inside? sorry for the:-offtopic
 
My reverse okatee does the exact same thing except he also raises his tail up from time to time then stomps it down. Then continues on haha.
 
I got to see the elusive hemipenes in action the other day. It was a two year old snake, and I don't think he extended them all the way. I had his mate waiting in the breeding bin, and he didn't want to get out of his paper towel tube, so I carried him to the bin like that, in his tube, and pointed him in. Once he got a whiff of her, he came flying out of the tube, with his hemipenes (both) out! But then he put them away until one was called into use. I couldn't see how he got it in, but I think he lined everything up and then unfurled it right into her, not had it out and stuck it in.
