Will bleach smell harm my snake?

I just sterilized a rock that used to be in an aquarium for my snake's viv. I used a bleach and water solution. But even after rinsing it and drying it in the sun, it still has a bleachy smell to it. Will that harm my snake? Any suggestions on how to get rid of the bleach smell? The rock is kinda porous (sp?), should I just continue to rinse it?

I'd leave it out of the tank for a few days or a week. It should not hurt the snake but better to be safe than sorry.

The clorine evaporates from the bleach within 24 - 48 hours of being exposed to air. I think that is the main concern, the clorine.

I used to do this when I was bleaching things to put into my fishtanks. Take outside, bleach real good and then leave them out there or in the garage for a few days up to couple weeks even.

Hope that helps a little,

Hehe..I knew when I was writing that, that I was spelling chlorine wrong! Just being lazy and didn't look it up. lol

...Yep, I'm the same way with looking things up or typos. Sometimes when I reread stuff I've typed real quick I laugh at some of the words I invent!:D
