I just bought my baby cornsnake last week.Last night,my baby cornsnake just fell from my bed.My bed is around 40cm high.Will the fall cause permanent injuries or death to my snake?How do i know if it's doing alright?Please help me!If your snake encounter this problem in the past,please share with me your experience and tell me what to do.Thanks!
 
Relax, its probably not going to die. Personally I would avoid handling or feeding it for a few days incase it has bruising or broken ribs. You dont want to make any injury worse. What I would also do is keep a close eye on it to see if you can spot any signs of injury. Swelling, difficulty in moving etc.

I will assume that it fell from the bed onto a carpet, right? 40cm is not all that far and it should be fine. My snake used to fall that distance from a climbing branch in her cage quite regularly. No injuries at all. However, if you are really worried then take it to a vet.

Just try to be more carefull to hold it low and not let it fall off things in the future.

Yes, your snake will die.

But its unlikely to happen anytime soon because of a fall. ;) Just keep an eye on him- but leave him alone to heal, should he be bruised or injured. There is little a vet can do outside of an X-ray or simply "feeling" the length of the body for injury. And even if these showed problems, there wouldn't be much you could do in terms of treatment for a hatchling snake. Offer a smaller than average meal next time, and if all seems okay, begin handling him as normal. Just don't leave him on the bed! :eek1:

I just saw your message but I had feed 2 pinkies to my snake last night and i think its too late.So now,i can only pray that it'll be alright.Overall,it seems alright to me.By the way,it fall on concret floor.In my country,people are not allow to keep any exotic pets.I mean there will be no vet around for my pet except cats or dogs.I saw some dark patches in the snake when i put it under strong light.But i am not sure if those are its bowels or blood clot.Thanks for both of your advice.I really appreciate it. :rolleyes:
 
I've had baby corns fall a meter to a concrete floor. I try to avoid it, but sometimes these things happen. There have never been any injuries, so I think the odds are very high that yours will have no problems.
