Enjoy :)!

So gorgeous! Womas are amazing snakes. The first time I held one at a reptile expo I fell in love. I WILL get one some day, haha. Great pictures!

Thanks everyone :)!

Usually my snakes go outside and just want to explore, but I set him down on the rock and he pretty much just chilled out. Made it very easy to get some photos of him. Pretty much sums up his personality, though. He's a little excitable when it's meal time, but outside of that, he has the most easy-going attitude.

Wow! I have to admit that I haven't seen a whole lot of pics of Womas but, the ones I have seen made me think 'What a plain and un-interesting looking snake'. You have officially changed THAT opinion. Great pics of an awesome looking snake!!!

I think I want one now.

Thank you very much!

I remember seeing a quick section showing them, in one of my first issues of Reptiles Magazine. Someone had won a prize for showing them, which surprised me, because I really didn't think they were all that interesting (at least in the picture of him holding them), compared to the more colorful snakes that caught my eye back then.

Then a few years ago, I saw a group of babies at a reptile show. Seeing them in person really made me see what was so special about them. They don't have the typical python face (almost more like a colubrid), and they have such a smoothness of their colors, patterns, and scales.

I had to pass on the babies at the show (way too $$$), but a while later I had seen an ad for this guy on CL. I could see from the blurry picture that it was in-fact a Woma (which was more than I expected from a CL ad, lol), and that it seemed fairly colorful. Long story short... the guy selling him had been caring for him very well since he had gotten him (roughly 1-2 years prior), but he was moving and couldn't take this guy with him. The price was extremely reasonable (and thanks to my moms help, I could fund it), so I went for it, and I couldn't be happier that I did/could!

I love this snake! He just keeps getting prettier and prettier!
Thank you, Nanci! Best part of all, is that he's definitely one of those snakes that wants to just come out and sit with me if I'm watching TV.

i have had quite a few womas, and i must say...these are very inquisitive animals that seem pretty smart for snakes. they always seem curious and alert. i think they are absolutely beautiful snakes and this one is also beautiful! makes me want more!

Beautiful Woma!:)
My will-power is still holding on, at this time, but would Love to have a Woma or two. 'Course, I really love the black headed pythons as well. So, my will power has to double its efforts in this.;)

I love their size. Just an awesome looking animal... yours is incredible. I'm getting one someday.

Thanks everyone for your comments :)! I really enjoy reading them, and they remind me just how lucky I am to have such a great animal.

@Rick - You're right, they must be quite intelligent (as far as snakes go), because this guy is also very inquisitive. Most snakes have a one track mind outdoors, and setting your finger or hand in front of them doesn't seem to send any message at all to them that they should stop before it. But this guy definitely seems to have some grasp of that. I really feel like he has the intelligence to comprehend certain cues like that. Not in the way that a dog would respond to a hand signal, but more that he's able to regather his movements based on what's in front of him, compared to most snakes that just go through or around what's obstructing their path.

He's cute :). Australian pythons look so different from other python species, that I often have a hard time believing they're really pythons. Your cutie has the same "non python" face that always makes me smile when looking at snakes from Oz, except that his is even prettier than normal.

Retics are the most intelligent according to people who own them. I'm not sure how. I guess they tend to "think" more, considering possible consequences of their actions before following through (eg. 'will I get in trouble if I eat this dog?').

That might be a stretch.

Ummm... yeah. You'd become a belt around here :).
