yet another heating question...

carnivorouszoo: I assume it's because since our body heat is over what the temp should be, it only feels slightly warm to us. The tape should be 85 degrees, for example, and your skin is 96.7 or something.

pan1414: I ordered this and it's working great so far. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NZZG3S/ref=oss_product

That is the one I was going to get sometime soon, is it really not working good?

I use this as of now...it was a cheap and quick way to get one on such short notice. http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/...ode+matchall&recN=112066&N=0&Ntk=P_PartNumber

I forgot to mention, that dimmer you will have to keep watching to make sure your temps are staying. My room during the day is about 66-68degrees due to winter and at night I turn my heat on..it goes up to about 73degrees. because of this during the day the temp is on the heat pad is between 82-85 and at night it is at 85-89.... when it reaches 89 I turn it down if I notice or shut my heat off. It requires watching but it keeps a fair temp between 82-89 if you get it just right. Room temp varies it, just keep that in mind.

No problem! :) Anyway I really recommend it. It was so much cheaper than other t-stats I had seen at pet stores and the like, and I love that it's digital. It makes it so much easier to read and set.
