Hi
Maybe some of you can help me with this.
Last summer there where 4 strange babies born. They start of as anery but after a while they turn in a more orange color with some caramel at the end.
So please tell me what you think.

Here are some pics so you know what i mean.

Knowing what the parents are could be a big help in identifying your babies. But going just by the pics, I would have to say they are normals. Some normals hatch out showing almost no orange at all and may be confused with an anery (especially if there are no anerys to compare to), but the orange increases with each shed.

Ok thnx
But as you can see there is no red in these animals when they have past a year. I had never seen normal animals with no red so thats why i did ask.

Anerys don't start off with orange between the saddles. To me, they just look like 'dull' normals. There are plenty of normals out there without any red.

Or, maybe they're hibirds.

It's correctly spelled "HYBRID". And I think Joe was just being funny. Some people wanting to know what morph their normal cornsnake is have been known to get upset when they are told it is "just" a normal. So...if it's not a normal, how about a hybrid?

Rene - I love normals and have many in my collection. And there is a large variation in their coloration. I've been hatching out normals for 10 years and just about all of them start out very dark and have their oranges and reds come in as they grow. I've also found that the oranges come in first and the reds will continue to increase right up to adulthood. Your snake is very colorful and will be a stunning specimen when it reaches adulthood.

Here's a variety of adult normals from my collection.

"Hibird" is a joke word used by some of the members here to describe a snake that you just aren't sure off. Anytime someone posted pics of anything a little different everyone rushed to say "oh then it must be a hybrid if it isnt X Y or Z", so it got turned around to hibird, as a funny name to describe something a little unusual. And yes, Joe does like to beat the dead hibird horse with a stick sometimes lol

If they are just normals, they are the most interesting looking normals I've ever seen.

To echo some of the other posters, can you provide information on the parents?

IMO I think it is difficult to find a "normal" normal .
Most of them will be het for something or multiplehet , that why they are so different from each other .
I think it is hard to find a "straight" normal ; not carrying any other genes then the wildtype does .

Thnx everyone fot the replys
I cant tell wath the parents exactly are but there is some ghost/anery and amel in them.
These animals are no hybrids
The ones on the first 2 pics are from this year and the one on the last 3 was from 2 years ago. The one on the last 3 was at the moment the pic was taken 1 1/2 years old but did die short after the pic was taken.

So its like 1 to 12 weeks old first 2 pics, 3 to 9 months pic 3, 9 to 18 months pic 4 and 5

First litter from these parents did have 9 anery's, 1 wild and 1 ?
Second litter did have 6 anery's 2 wild and 4 ?

Well, sometimes it gets quite annoying when each and every time a snake looks a bit different it is called a HIBIRD immediately.

And it gets quite annoying when people jump to conclusions and can't be bothered to take 2 seconds to re-read the post. I thought it was pretty obvious it was a joke--and Susan caught onto that as well.

Hey Renee!

I think they are just awesome looking normals! Maybe they have some super cool hets! I would do lots of test breeding on them! lol To all sorts!

I really like their colouring! :santa: But then, I love the "normal" looking corns, they are still the prettiest to me...lol

Hey Velvet
It doesn't make any difference what they are i was just wondering. I have never seen corns with these kind of colors. In about 2 years from now i will know what the are after some test breeding. Anyway for now i'm going to enjoy these animals and certainly there color change.

But if anyone still has an opinion about these i would still like to hear it.

btw i hope my english isn't that bad.

Best wishes René

Haha, your English is better than some of the native-English speakers here! I didn't even notice until I saw your last post, and looked at your location.
