Hi Renee.
I'd go with the normal's on this, the variation can be extreme,as you have already seen, you can have a light normal, dark norml, and eveything but the kitchen sink inbetween.
The only sure fire way would be to breed them to a proven snake..
Your "normals" are still pretty impressive.

These new pics show their color a bit differently. The head coloring is still that of a normal, but the orange - red diminished rather quickly. I am really going to hate saying this, but it looks like Joe's "hibird" joke may be closer to the truth. The coloring on most of the body looks very much like that of a rootbeer...a corn X Emoryi hybrid/intergrade. I'm not even close to being an expert on rootbeers/creamsicles/etc so I would suggest you search for the hybrid experts' opinions.

Thanx for the link Latasti but i cant find a good pic. Must say the look a lot like mine as far as i can see for now.

@ Susan
Hybrids no way i know where my animals come from and i know i can trust these people. They know i hate hybrids and so do they.

Btw i will never use that f****** picserver again.

you did'n't make ME laugh at all...

sometimes it is better to just shut up if you haven't got anything better to say...

Rene is not a rookie breeder... has bred many cornsnakes(and other species), these animals just look really different than any normal I saw at that age... I am not saying it is a gene, but they are really nice, and I don't think rene is claiming he bred a "new gene", but just curious IF somebody bred any snakes which were like these...

you and your HYBIRD just think you are really funny.... Well maybe It is because English is not my mother language, but imo it makes you look pretty dumb :|

once or twice it might be funny... but that's enough...

(bad english, I have more trouble understanding the english than the german version, and I read english way better)

Sorry for that, i continually improve my English. At least i hope so! :headbang:

The pictures form Rene shows certain parallels to the chestnut's form Michael Schaub. So i'wouldn't wonder, if the amelanistic variant of your corn looks like mandarin. It would be interesting to know.

To me without knowing anything about the parents, they looked like sunkissed rootbeers on the before shedding pics. On the ones after shedding, they look like a less common 'type' of normal.... or maybe with a teeny tiny drop of emoryi blood suddenly showing up afte some generations, without the breeder knowing anything about it...but I know you trust your source and might not be willing to be open for the idea that maybe the parents were 5% hybrid and some of their babies 'catched' a little change in color from that... but that is more to tease you then to be serious, though I think some truth might be in these words ;)

What is your problem? If you read my post, I've said nothing offensive or in a nasty way. I simply gave my opinion as the snakes in question have changed in their appearance...away from looking like typical cornsnakes. I did not claim to be a hybrid expert...in fact I said the opposite. Even a small amount of Emoryi blood from one ancestor 10 generations back, can suddenly produce a throw-back or two.

I didn't reply to your post, excuse me Susan ;)

I DID reply to JoeJR....

Any chance of directly posting new pictures on here? To me the later of the first set reminds me of the 'copper' corns I've seen on another website, but I'd have to see adult pictures before I could really compare them
