My last word about the subject if I can disable the Vistor message system ( see below, This is the other feature that anoyed the crap out of me ) but not the friends list system. Sorry Roy you are a good friend but dont blow smoke up my butt. I aint buying it and are not asking a lot. Just to have the oppiton to dissable the friends list system. Thats too much to ask for. Give me a break

No, Vin, it is a big deal. I would have to pay my programmer to implement this hack (as he calls mods) and pay for his time and efforts to please what appears to be ONE SINGLE SOLITARY person over this detail. Not only that, but each and every time there is a new upgrade to the base vBulletin code, and I need to upgrade this site, then each and every hack done to the old code has to be rewritten (unless the code developers implement it in the main code) for the upgrade. Which costs me more money again at that time.

If you want this so bad, the belly up to the bar with your checkbook and we'll talk about it. I will check with my programmer about how much the hack would cost and you can send me the money for it. Seriously, do you think this all gets done for FREE?

Oh and about your quip about ONLY using this site to sell your animals and the implication that nothing else about it is worth you spending your time on....... Well, I hope you don't think you are doing ME any favors that way... oke:

I honestly don't see the point with continuing this thread.
Some agree with Vinny... it seems most aren't, but let's put this to rest...
I know I am not the most active/liked/whatever user around so I don't expect everyone to listen or anything... but honestly, Vinny is a deal upset with something which I find rather minor- but that's his right to be pissed at it.
Do I agree with the way he posted said opinions? guess not, but I think everyone expressed their objection rather vehemently and any addition will as you said, add fuel to the flames.

Myspace isn't bad because of the features it presents. It's bad because of the attitude so many people bring to those features.

This is the age of communication. People aren't satisfied with giving a call every few weeks to see if the person on the line is still alive and kicking. People want to know what you're doing at 5:14pm. And again at 5:15pm. And what you're not doing, too.

Yeah, I see it as a little silly too. I'm not interested in what people are doing every day, how many bowel movements they've had lately, etc. BUT, there are so many good features to outweigh the bad. I use the ones I like, I don't use the ones I don't like.

This is life. I don't whine about it. I'm not under the deluded impression that this board revolves around me and my desires. And I certainly won't cause a fuss about it, as this is the kind of attitude that makes other networking sites bad. And I don't like to contribute to and create the kind of problems I complain about. It seems like that's just working backwards.

I will say that I can respect your opinion. There's nothing wrong with liking things simple, especially if you're so worried about offending people. I think it's very unfair of you to ask for Rich to spend money out of his own pocket to implement a feature only you seem to care about. I personally wouldn't dare ask something like that.

Also, I find it insulting that you say you're not satisfied with these forums and won't use them any longer EXCEPT to post sales so you can still make profits.

This whole situation has upset me so much that I might also make a silent protest. Some day in the future. When you guys aren't expecting it. And oh how you'll feel it. When you're sitting at home with your 2.3 kids enjoying an afternoon meal in front of the tube and suddenly....WHAM....

you'll feel a great loss. An absence of my greatness. And then I'll have the last laugh.

He won't be the only one. There are a fair number of people that post here a few times per year...and 90% of those posts seem to be ads. Of course, they wonder why their sales aren't as high as some other's seem to be. It happens.

Don't let the people who ONLY use this site to post ads offend you since they ARE helping to PAY for the site the rest of us COULD read for free as much as we wanted. However, don't feel bad if you are more comfortable buying from a "familiar name," either. I'm not.

No problem , You put in the programs that you wanted. There are disable tabs for many features. The friends sec is not one of them, design flaw. No, I can not afford the modification. But on the flip side maybe on your next up grade you might want to install the disable tab for the friends list sec. So the few people like myself do not have to be bothered by Notifaction alerts for friends invites or have to reject a bunch of people who send you friend invites.

I wont be posting nothing but for sale adds and pic's of my stock and a little story about the stock. I wont respond to the threads though (too bad we cant lock the thread like we used to) because I dont want to be bothered by friend invites. The more you post the more people want to be your friend. As KJ said I wont be the only one that will be doing this . Many people do it for all different reasons.
