LOL. Yeah... I ALMOST forget to wash my hands when feeding the snakeys... but my "survival instinct" kicks in just in time to save me from those kinds of bites. One of my more "stupid" bites ocurred while feeding my lovely Florida King. She's got one of those "tree" decorations that has a large hole in the bottom AND a hole up top where she can climb through the center of the tree and be at the top of the tree. Well, I FORGOT that... and tried to feed her at the bottom of the tree. Needless to say, as I dangled the mouse trying to get her attention near the base, my hand, holding the tongs, holding the mouse blocked my view of the treetop. In a flash BANG, she had latched onto my hand between my thumb and forefinger. OUCH! LOL. I'll never EVER forget her feeding response in my (or her) lifetime!
As for the LTR, when it gets cooler than 95 degrees, I'm gonna spend more time with her outside. Hopefully, this will get her more calmed down and amenable to being held. I might have to break out the wussy gloves for the initial sessions, but will get rid of them soon enough.
BTW, thanks for asking! I appreciate the fact that you remember!
And... No valium in the water dishes here! OBVIOUSLY!
