SHOW ME YOUR VIV'S

I have seen a few of the viv's some of you have. Know many of you are into breeding and have set ups that reflect this. But what of you that may have just a few or one corn/other species what do your set ups look like. If you would be so kind as to give description of size, heating, temp. regulation, etc. I have two corns both in 29 gal aquariums use rheostats with temp probes. Substrate is news print easy to take care of use print cut up in three sections for easier spot cleaning. Here are a couple of photos:

i have 4 corn snakes. starting from right side of photo the lower 10 gall is popcorn viv (albino zig zag). the top 15 gall high is sniper (snow corn). then top right is peek a boo in a 20 gall long(wild corn snake), then below her is trigger a (yellow/pink snow corn). the lower part with all the cages where my feeder mice. but it turns out they make me very sick. so there nothing there now. but soon will be two ten gall there for 2 new females corns i will be getting in a few months.

We have only two snakes and two vivs but they are very close to the same setup. They are both 15 gallon longs with a UTH on a lamp dimmer with a probe style thermometer. A water dish and two hides for the warm and cool side. One viv has a branch with some fake plants for climbing and the other has half a set of deer antlers with fake plants attached for climbing. Here is a pic of the one setup.

*points to sig*

But they're only babies right now - I have a proper 4' tank for one of them when they are adult size. I need to get another one now, too *gulp*

It looks as though I short greenery. Is it difficult spotting the poop in th aspen? All are very nice. I'm sure there are more out there, let's see them people.
thanks for sharing----Tony

heres quick shots of my 2 vivs, I've changed a few things since the last pics I posted (Does anynoe have viv pics?, Baby Green Snake... Any Help Appreciated, Pictures of Your Snakes Home) I did go to fluorescent strip lights with reptisun bulbs instead of the domes, added an extra branch to each one, changed to digital temp probes instead of the analogs, put in soft reptile carpeting so Grassy wouldn't end up eating bedding chips with her crickets, and the rocks/bowl are the next size up for Alexi... Grassy got her hand me downs.

Oh. Very nice. I like that back wall of leaves. Maybe I'm gonna have to redecorate. Scott

Thanks :) our snakes really like the leaves, our corn is too heavy now I think to climb them without her vines but there are the bendable vines woven all throughout them. They're kinda hidden now, I use to have them sticking out in places but tucked them in to make room for the big branch.

(I think leaves on the walls, whether they can support the snake or not, give a nice enclosed feeling to it).

Maizey on top, Jake on the bottom. All vivs now have a digital max/min thermometer
in the warm hide, and a Herpstat thermostat. All the thermostats except this are
the Herpstat ND which has high/low temp alarms.

My favourite set-up of the entire page. I'm glad that you give all your snakes really nice enclosures, although I know it's more practical I don't really like a rack-and-bin set-up. I understand that breeders must do this to conserve time and money and the snakes feel more enclosed and safe. But I think if you have less then 10 herps then you should give them all a lovely tank. After all, it's their home for life, the least we should do is make it nice for them. :)

I hope you don't mind, but I plan on modelling my Corn's viv' like that when he reaches a year old. Just out of interest, are those plants the Exo-Terra ones? Also, where did you get that log from, it looks fantastic.

All the best

David
