2009 Yahoo - Pro Football Pickem - Contest - Prizes

Looks like you'll be hanging out with me for the week. ;)
Argh! Well I'm still happy with the #2 spot, but it looks like we'll have quite the competition next week. What team is that in your avatar by the way? You might need to take that photo down town for the detectives to look at. They're trying to identify a lifeless team they found beat to a pulp over in Baltimore ;).

I know, I just like having my heart thrusted from my chest on a weekly basis...:awcrap:

How about that quarterback swap at the half? Looks like "more of the same" if you ask me, it'll be interesting to see how Romeo Mangini gets himself out of this familiar quagmire. :grin01:

The Browns really screwed themselves up in these past two drafts, and it's starting to show. That's what happens when teams think they are on the verge of winning, so they live in the hear and now rather than focusing on the future.
Braylon has all of the talent in the world, but he has zero football common sense. He needs to focus on the traditional WR skills, like CATCHING THE BALL! They also should have kept that 1st round pick, or traded down only a few spots. But no... They had to compile a lot of picks, and really didn't draft a darn thing. Brady Quinn has some potential, and the O-Line is decent, but they need another WR, and a legitimate running back. They could have had quite a few really good backs this year, but they totally blew it. Donald Brown and Beanie Wells were in late, but the Browns did nothing.
Sorry for the rant about your team, I mean no disrespect. I just hate seeing GM's and coaches get paid so much for doing so little. If I were the Brown's GM, I could guarantee the team would be much better than they are. They also could have had Adrian Peterson over Joe Thomas a couple of years ago, which I thought they should have done. I know Joe Thomas is a great Line-man, but he can't make plays. Jamal Lewis is washed up, I'm sorry to say it, and they really should have prepared better. They also need to pick a freaking QB and stick with him. Then sign a decent backup, and trade the other. Geez!

Uh-oh.... Getting UGLY now. I feel bad for the Cards... but as much as I like him, Kurt AIN'T no P. Manning (I certainly think Kurt is the EQUAL to E. Manning though).

LOL. I LOVE the Cards... but how can you pick AGAINST Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Dallas (Great name) Clark, Joseph Addai, Dwight Freeney... and others (who I'm forgetting). Did I mention PEYTON MANNING?

Remember LAST game, Peyton and the Colts were the FIRST team to have the ball for less than 15 minutes... AND WIN!

Actually, I thought the Cards were gonna be able to score against the Colts' D. And they were the favorites at home.

any skins fans out there?
wow! not surprised they lost to the lions!
just waiting for Zorn to be sent packing!

Looking ahead, week 4 is going to be very interesting! I counted at least 6 games that I can see going either way. Should be fun...

You know, I LIKED Jim Zorn as a QB. BUT, he's turning out to be a not so great HC.... :crying:

Ughhhh... I haven't looked at them yet. BUT, I hope to have more wins next time!

One of my house-daughter's wants me to use this emoticon... for no particular reason.....:toiletgra

ONE pick next week was hard to make... Dallas vs. Denver. As of right now, Dallas is 1-1 (tonight is a BIG game for them) and Denver is an amazing 3-0 (SHOULD rightly be 2-1 given that miracle in the first game against Cincy). Love them both, and am trying to be objective. I'm going with Denver right now 'cause they've got a newfound rushing attack. Dallas can make me change my mind IF they show me something tonight.

My wife (who hardly EVER watches football) mentioned that Dallas is really letting her down this year. She's frustrated at the players who seem so good but can't get it done. I'm sure she's talking about Romo here. Everyone else seems to be getting it done but him.

I don't want to give away my pick for that game, so I'll speak in code... DALLAS WILL WIN THAT GAME!!! They have too great of a running back trio, and Denver still needs to find their identity. I know, I know, they are 3-0, but Dallas has some real talent, and Denver still needs to prove themselves a little more.

WOW! Dallas is really sucking it up!!

Is it too early in the season to start hoping that Jerry Jones gets rid of Wade and Jason Garrett?

I actually really like Jim Zorn as a head coach. It's their GM and offensive coordinator that have to go. The Redskins have become more about flavor than they are about substance, and they are habitual over-payers because of it. Haynesworth was a waste of money and so was DeAngelo Hall. I love the Orakpo pick, but he'd be better used at defensive-end. Also the OC is terrible, and the Redskins offense is too talented not to score. IMO Jason Campbell can get it done and he is the prototypical game manager. It's the lack of a solid run that makes him look bad and if they could just hire someone to call better plays he might have success...Either way, I'm glad I'm a Ravens fan!. :)

Too early, or too late?!.

Wow... Dallas won?! Really???? How were they sucking it up, Rich? I didn't get to see the game... I heard that Gruden was really giving Romo some "kudos". Why all the love?

I wasn't watching the game either...but I read they were booed (boo'd?) off the field at the half.

The offense looked terrible in the first half.

Thy didn't look much better in the second half. But against Carolina it was good enough.

Both Gruden and Jaworski were talking about the Cowboys fan have given up on Romo too quickly. That he has a good win percentage and some good stats. I think the Cowboys need to be all about the running game. Pass when they need to.

That's awesome! When I heard they were down in the 3rd quarter, I already determined that I wasn't getting the point for the game. That's been my luck this week. Yay!
