LOL! I thought I was alone here...
Wasn't it a great game, though? Denver looks GREAT!nah, I just didn't want to jynx it
Where'd RICH go??? You still yelling at the TV, Rich? :sidestep:I can't say much. I sit and yell at the TV when I am watching a game.

The thing that scares me... without those returns... Where would the points have come from? I know it would have changed the WHOLE game... but I'm concerned about how they scored the points.Had to go wait for the pizza guy
Congrats, Fred! The Broncos looked good tonight.

I'm really not sure about that. McDaniel's seems to really be able to work with any coachable QB, and with 9TD's to only 1int, I think Orton really has nothing to worry about. That defense has made the best one year turn around as any D I've seen, and I don't think it's going anywhere, anytime soon.I agree with this 100%.
I think the defense is carrying the team. At some point I think Kyle Orton will be the Kyle Orton that he has always been and start turning the ball over. What happens then?
I've got spot 21 all to myself :dancer:
I was just sharing with Rich, that as a Broncos fan, I AM concerned where the points came from. While they did score 34 points, there were times in the game that it did seem that they could NOT move the ball. On the other hand, it should be noted that their defense stepped up and stopped SD when THEY had to move the ball and score. Just "Monday morning QBing" the thing. LOL.I'm really not sure about that. They have one of, if not the best O-Line in the NFL, same with the receiving core. Elvis Dumervil... What can I say... WOW! 10 sacks already is flat out amazing.
I really like what the Broncos are doing, and the competition they've already beaten has been, in my opinion, more difficult than the other undefeated teams.
I AM thrilled with Orton's success. When the Cutler/Orton trade happened, I was NOT happy with it... but it has turned out for the best, I think, for both teams (even though the Bears are kinda sucking wind, right now). I think part of Cutler's problem, as they said in the game vs. the Falcons, is that he thinks he can put the ball where he wants it every time... almost arrogantly. Yet look what happened to him... 2 INT's in that game alone. I DO think that if/when he settles down and plays "within" himself, he'll be pretty good as well.Fred - as a Broncos fan, you must be thrilled about Orton's success. I personally thought that Cutler was a worse cancer that T.O, and I assume you are glad of his departure. I honesty don't think that he would have won half of these games, and sometimes talent can't compare to being a true team player.
IMO, I think that the Colts are the best undefeated team thus far... and it is no accident with Peyton leading them. So, who does everyone think is the best undefeated team in the NFL right now?
I think Denver is by far the most underrated, but I think that the Saints are the best overall team.
Which is why I'm VERY nervous about being in the #1 spot... As I mentioned, anything can happen and holding onto this spot for 11 more weeks... UNLIKELY. LOL.LOL, I have 7 to myself... :dancer:
Well, this was my worst week yet, but looking across the board almost everybody had a bad week, and starting from so high up it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, whew...
I just tallied up the first 6 weeks for upsets and so far the average is 5 per week. This is how it played out:
Upsets
Week1 - 3
Week2 - 9
Week3 - 4
Week4 - 3
Week5 - 5
Week6 - 6
Total - 30
Is it me or does that seem like a lot of upsets this year?
That's where I'm at, so I basically agree. Of course you can't rely on the return game, but the defense has been phenomenal, so I wasn't too alarmed by the lack of ball movement.I was just sharing with Rich, that as a Broncos fan, I AM concerned where the points came from. I too was BLOWN AWAY when they made that trade. I thought it was an iffy move to go out and sign McDaniel's, seeing they already had one of the best offensive minds in football, and defense was the big ?. But after seeing what they're able to do now, I'm certain that Cutler isn't mature enough yet to fit the build. He is, however, one of the most gifted QB's in the game, but he is wildly inconsistent, and much too arrogant, I believe, to fit well in a system, at least at the moment.I AM thrilled with Orton's success. When the Cutler/Orton trade happened, I was NOT happy with it... but it has turned out for the best, I think, for both teams (even though the Bears are kinda sucking wind, right now). Couldn't agree more! You really do need a system in this league, and Orton is fitting in well enough to succeed.Do you remember us talking about system QB's? I think that Orton is a GOOD QB in the Broncos' system. BUT, I STILL think he's a "system" QB (like Brady, Cassel, Montana, et al).
Absolutely agree! His potential is endless, as he can make EVERY throw, and is much more mobile than most other QB's in the league. I think he could develop into a hall of fame player, he just needs to really grow up off the field, and not be so do or die on the field.Cutler... while enjoying very LIMITED success thus far, is potentially a great QB (like P. Manning, Brees, Marino, Elway, Young, Fouts, Staubach and - you'll appreciate Roethlesberger).
I can't argue with the Colts, they are basically a dead tie with NO in my opinion. My only concern is the run game, where they are in the middle of the pack.IMO, I think that the Colts are the best undefeated team thus far... and it is no accident with Peyton leading them.
Next would be the Broncos, Saints and then Minnesota (who made it just BARELY in 2 games of last minute heroics from Favre).
This is true. I might have better luck flipping a coin on some of these games. Lol.All I can say is "Any given Sunday"...
And some of the "favorites" are arbitrary at best. I mean who was really the favorite in the Saints and Giants game? Before the actual game, for me it was a guessing game for which one to pick.
I am a little late, but Congrats Fred and the #1 spot. Like you said anything can happen and it will be hard to stay there. Good luck to you and everyone else. I have found this to be really fun to keep up with and pick the games. I have also found myself rooting or pulling for teams that I hate or have very little to like about them. What amazes me is that the teams I pull for changes every week with my selections. I am definitely hooked on this and will be a player every year from now on.....
