Yeah, look at those incredible Cowboys, now that they don't have the terrible distraction of Terrell Owens? He was absolutely labeled the reason for all of Dallas's ups and downs last year, then released as though it would somehow steer the team in the right direction.
Owens was blamed for the lack of equality in spreading the ball around, and I'm sure Witten and Romo had much to do with his releasing. So they preemptively brought in Roy Williams, the supposed great new replacement to T.O, even when he commanded such high trade value.
Now look! Can you really blame T.O now? Williams has been proven to be a trade bust. Witten isn't getting as many catches as he did last year, even though he actively sought the removal of T.O. And above all, Romo is finally shining through as the overrated QB he has always been, and he can no longer rely on the T.O excuse.
I think Terrell Owens has always been unfairly demonized, and personally attacked by the media, and NFL fans alike. He is certainly not the best team player, but he has always been a top WR in the league, at least in his prime. He has done nothing to deserve the extreme ridicule that some have placed on him, and I think some people are too quick to express their dislike of him.
What has he ever done that is really that bad? I'm not defending his previous displays of immaturity, but when compared to people who cheat, steal, rob, abuse, murder, etc... how has Terrell Owens compiled such a record of public disdain towards him.
I think he is slowly deteriorating as an on the field threat, but he has also shown much improvements, in my opinion, with his off the field effort and behavior.
