2009 Yahoo - Pro Football Pickem - Contest - Prizes

Definitely looking forward to tonight's game. Should be a real good game. I think it gives Denver an opportunity to make a statement as to whether or not they're for real or if their start was a fluke.

I agree! Here's hoping they're not a fluke! It's real important since SD is now hitting things in stride...

Here's to hoping for Denver tonight! I NEED to get this win, or I'll be kicking myself right in the Arse. But let's keep this in perspective... Houston misses an EASY FG to send it into O/T. Baltimore misses an EASY kick to bring the game to one possession, and there was plenty of time to get the ball back. Philly made a DIFFICULT kick, but it was the flat out dumbest move I've seen in a long while to kick it.

But that's sports, and I just have to deal with it. The Cowboys played really well last night, 6-2 and looking scary again. The Tennessee win provided a softer fall than it could have if I picked that game wrong too. So all in all, if I can get this win tonight I'll be tied for 2nd, which is pretty good considering I had my worst week yet.

Congrats Fred!!! GREAT week for you, and a 2 game cushion is really nice to have. Good luck tonight, I'm pulling for Denver as well.
Trust me though, they aren't a fluke. Their 6-0 run was legit, and I knew that Baltimore was kind of a trap game anyways. They may lose tonight, but they have WAY too much depth to be considered a fluke.

I'm with ya, Michael! I WANT a win tonight!
As for yesterday's games. You're right... 3 things go wrong and 3 games go differently. THAT is why they play the game! :)

I have no hope whats so ever of even getting close!!!
But tonight game will be good to watch!!
Don't count yourself out, Lenny. Still half a season to go!!!

Maybe there will be a snake shed for the losers!!!
Good news....that can be delivered in an envelope!! LOL!

Unless a MIRACLE happens, it looks like Matt and I will be tied for 1st... and Michael and Darcy will be tied for 2nd. Unless I'm reading something COMPLETELY wrong...

(Sigh)... Denver isn't what I thought they would be... The Steelers are what I'm AFRAID they would be and look like they'll be right there to defend their title. Gosh, I hope not. :(

Hopefully, Denver learns from this and is right there to challenge the Steelers in the playoffs.

This was the Orton implosion I have been predicting for weeks. Unfortunately I didn't think it would happen this week :p

Congrats to Fred and Matt and all the other leaders!

This is what I took away from last night's game:

Pittsburgh is back and ready to contend. Their rough start was a fluke, especially their defense. Back to the Pittsburgh defense we've come to expect.

Denver's defense is good enough to win a Super Bowl. Their offense as some issues though and is their achilles heel. I think they said that TOP for the 2nd half was 22 min for Pitts, and 8 min for Denver. That's a serious problem as Denver's defense just got worn down towards the end and couldn't make the stop. I put that more on their offense failing to stay on the field than on the defense.

Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati is going to be an interesting game.

Can't argue with you there. Its a real shame that Denver's defense is let down by its anemic offense. They'd better find some answers soon as the "playbook" that the Ravens and Steelers used against them will now be what everyone else uses when facing them.

Ahhh, well!!! :) You're also right about the Cincy @ Pitt game. Whoa!!!!

Anyway, congrats on catching me, Matt! ;) Looks like it'll be close throughout the season... although, if you look at my weekly scores, they seem to be steadily declining right from the beginning. :uhoh:

DON'T FORGET!!!!! This week's picks need to be in BEFORE the game on Thursday!!!! I'd lock them in now, everyone!

I know Fred has already mentioned it. But I am gonna remind everyone to make your picks before the game starts tonight.

Good luck everyone!

LOL. I looked them over EVERY day since Sunday... I just changed my Chicago @ SF pick... for the 4th time!!!! What wishy-washy teams... LOL.

I'm wondering if Mike Singletary's hard work will ever come to fruition there in SF... Not that I don't mind them NOT being good... I am a Cowboy fan after all! :p

Like everyone I have been reviewing my picks too. While there I finished and looked at the group picks and there is still a lot of people that haven't picked yet.

BETTER GO AND MAKE YOUR PICKS FOLKS!!!! Time ends at 8:15 pm EST and the game starts at 8:20 TONIGHT!!!

Of course, that's depending on your time zone!!! That's 8:20 pm EASTERN time... 6:20 pm my time (MOUNTAIN) and 5:20 pm PACIFIC time.

I still believe in SF. I think Mike Singletary can make them contenders if not next year, then the year after. With a few more draft pick ups and trades, and his mentality, should be great to watch.

And as a Cowboy fan, it'd be nice for them to be good and revive the 49s - Cowboys NFC Championship games we saw for so many years. Will just make beating them that much sweeter! :eek1::dancer:
