Those are some beautiful babies! Too bad you didn't hit the blizzard, but if these grow up to look like mom & dad, they'll be truly gorgeous snakes!

Thanks! So far, I think #6 and #17 are my favorites. Just hope they all eat readily!!

Got a new LED candling light, man is it soooooo bright! So easy to see things now! The old one must of been growing dimmer for a long time. I'll have to go through and candle all the hatchlings with the new light here soon.

SxV61414-20 weight 6 grams. Neat saddles. Candled male.

Just have one lone egg left yet to pip.

Hey, if you don't decide to keep him for yourself, I would like to reserve #20 there. He'd be a perfect mate for my Nautley.

Sure, I'll put you down as first dibs on him. Although I'd kind of like to keep one of my first ever corn hatchlings, I will probably end up selling all of them.

Finally! The last remaining egg just pipped. It's another little Phantom. No Blizzards for me, oh well.

Congrats on a beautiful clutch none the less Tavia. I thoroughly enjoyed the updates and seeing them gradually make their way into the world. Hope all are good eaters for you. Next time for the bliz!

Number 20 is definitely my favorite too. They're all really beautiful though. I did not know this was your first corn clutch. Congratulations!

Thanks! Yeah, I think #20 so far has the neatest pattern, I can't wait to see them all after they shed!

And here is the final baby! SxV61614-21, weighing in at a whooping 5 grams. Candled female. She has some neat patterning too.

I candled all of them the other day with the new light, there are a few that I'm quite uncertain about the results on, but first tally is 13 girls and 8 boys.

Nice looking phantoms! Congrats. I didn't know you could candle-sex corns

It's a fairly accurate, non invasive way to check but it only works on young snakes and ones with limited pigment, like snows and amels etc ...

Worked great when I first got Stormy and Vash as babies but it's been awhile since I last candled any baby snakes and these are by far the smallest I've ever candled!

I thought it was only for light colored morphs. So does it work on normals and other darker morphs as long as they are still young/little enough? How young is young enough?

Darn. And here I thought I'd found my salvation and I wasn't going to have to learn how to pop and/or probe itty bitty little tiny squirmy worms. Without hurting them.

Yeah, I understand that completely! These little worms are tiny! I actually bought Vash and Stormy with the intent to breed them when they were big enough. I really liked some of the various Caramel morphs at the time but also anything Anery-ish and anything Anery type and Hypo especially. So the deciding factor on which morphs to get was actually the ability to candle sex the babies from them. Up until just this past year I didn't know anyone nearby who knew how to pop or probe. Luckily, I've recently met several locals that can and one has agreed to double check the gender on these once they are about ready to go to new homes.

Four of them shed and were offered their first meal today, all ate within the first 15 minutes! Number 1, number 4, number 6 and number 10 have all eaten. I'm so happy! I'd been kind of dreading the first meal, my only other experience with new baby snakes has been a litter of Rosy boas and all but one of them were variously major pains to get eating!
