conveniently ignoring the fact that many of the founding fathers were actually agnostic/atheistic.

And if I don't like christianity reigning supreme over my life, death, and uterus I should move? Wow. How very "christian" of them. And how very not-free this country is. How come we deplore laws based on religion in other countries and embrace them here?

That said, once again, why would it be so hard to move the cross to private land? That way there can be no contention!
 
A promise of "I will keep it... right here. This exact spot, rather than move it to safety should the need arise so as to preserve its continued existence"?

Location has squat significance in the grand scheme of things with regards to this memorial. I should think them moving it to a place where it can be maintained should be better than risking a fight they have a decent chance of losing, because that would be keeping the *spirit* of the promise real well.

This whole thing is positively ridiculous.

I agree! ACLU needs to GET A GRIP and realize what they are doing is disrespectful to the fallen that fought so that they can do what they do!!!

Those quotes are from CONCERNED Americans who are fighting for our freedom... Some of them are vets, some of them are soldiers today and some are related to soldiers.

That is not bull corn, that is truth and honor and patriotism.

I don't remember the instance that it was used. If it was in a quote, they misspelled it. If I "said" it, then I misspelled it. Not a big deal. I have Safari, it uses a spell check.
 
Before I get 'round to moving out of the country (because Tara is not Christian and seeing as how people who aren't a part of the Christian faith don't belong in America, she'll have to leave... and where she goes, I go... then again, the fundamentalist Christians WOULD like that... one less lesbian couple to marr their idealistic world)....

The saddest and most apalling part of post #100 is the basic lack of grammar and spelling skills. That is the part that ought to make us ashamed to be American... the people writing these statements have free access to a public education, paid for by our tax dollars, and they can't spell ridiculous??? :puke01:

What is MORE sad is that these people DIED so that YOU CAN be a lesbian and do whatever you want, but yet you still want to tear down what was put up in their honor.

I have Safari. I have spell-check. I copied and pasted the quotes. Although the fact that they cannot spell does not make them any less smart.
