Would everyone prefer a location more towards the Ocean Center, or does it matter? There's a couple decent sized ones by the Daytona Speedway I could check out if everyone doesn't mind a little bit of a drive (right around where the hotel Katie is talking about is at).

If you consider how far down 1 we drive to get to Whistle Junction - I would think up by the Speedway would be about the same distance or possibly even closer of a drive...don't ya think?

I will not be moving officially till October now.
But I was talking to Robbie yesterday and told him I will be in Florida on the 12th and staying thru the 24th. So I will be around for 2 weeks before the show if you need anything.

I soooooo want to go to daytona... and I think I could afford it by then, along with -maybe- a little spending money... but I dont think I could manage the whole flying/getting around thing by myself.... I'm a bit of a wimp.
 
I missed the part about Tim moving here. Where in Florida will you be moving to? We NEED lots more herpers here! The more numbers we have, the more clout we have when they try to push through stupid laws!

If a bunch of us end up at the same hotel, you can probably just get yourself to the hotel and then catch rides to and from the show. I doubt that the hotel has airport service, but it would be perfect if they did, lol!

If we don't get together on the one discussed so far, several of us have stayed at the Super 8 in the past, so you would have company there.

I already emailed Chuck and Connie (Pritzel) - they usually go to the Super 8, too. But he said he would hold off getting a room to see if we all do something together.

That would be pretty cool if I had someone to follow around lol. I'd probably get pretty annoying to said someone though. :D This is, of course, assuming I can afford it/get parental permission. They dont think its a very good idea sending a young female off to meet internet friends... :rolleyes:

My grapes can chill for this, if everyone wants to get his attention. Fore-warned is fore-armed.

Hopefully, I'll be able to make my yearly journey to Daytona, but I will pass on the hotel room. I usually grab a room right on the ocean within walking distance to the Ocean Center. I really hate paying for parking, and if hubby and the kids are with me this year, I have to think about them. They'll want to be able to leave when they are ready, not when I am or anyone else is ready.

Ironically I am moving to Daytona, but in October. ;)
But I will be there for the show!

I think that the presentations would be fun and interesting, but who wants to give up their dinner time? Even if the presentations are only a few minutes long?
I like being able to chit-chat with everyone. It's nice to be able to just sit around and shoot the breeze.

I agree with Robbie... Presentations are great and all but in my mind dinner is for visiting and eating!
