Everyone's first Snake bite

Gameyier? What do you mean? Stringy?

Hmmmm how to describe the taste of game... not stringy, but it has a unique kind of aftertaste. Most wild stuff has it... deer, elk... maybe one of the hunters might see this and be able to describe it better.

To me deer and elk have a sort of strong "smoky" after taste, even when not smoked. There's definitely a different taste to a wild animal than one of our fat, hormone-injected domestic animals.

my first bite

happened just the other week. it was my stripe snow yearling tiko. lol i was putting him in his feeding tub and i guess he got a little over excited. got me right above the nail on my index finger. didn't hurt, his head is itty bitty. in fact, all of him is still itty bitty lol. but the speed...! kinda caught me by surprise. hasnt't tried it since though. and my female amel has never tried to bite me, even the one time i might have smelled like mouse.

When I was four years old my brother and I saw an awesome red white and blue gartersnake, and so we dove headfirst into some blackberry bushes to try and catch it. I did get my hands on him, but he bit me hard. Sorry to say I dropped him and he disapeared into the thorns, never to be seen again. That little bugger even drew blood.

My first bite was about 10 years ago from a bull snake that I was trying to catch while camping. It was also my worse bite because it was a big snake. He certainly was cool though.

LOL Seta fox, you must have been a brave lad :)

I remember giving a bull who use to sun on the back porch of our head trainer's trailer every morning as wide a berth as the rattlers I would meet on the trail. Of course, I didn't much care for snakes back then... although, I didn't mind them around since they kept the rodent population down as long as I didn't have to see them eye-to-eye :)
