:santa:Glad I joined this Forum. Quality entertainment. Me? I feed mostly blue smarties:nyah:

I'll think I'll take passionate about the health of her snakes and a lack of suffering on the part of the prey over incoherence, ignorance, and lame attempts at trolling.

Next year I might get one of Starsevol's snakes. :D

lol
Beth is awesome, she's been her forever and is a respected member of this form. If I ever wanted another corn snake, I'd definitely buy from someone who is concerned about the welfare of their animals. You, on the other hand, come across as lazy, butthurt, and you're posts are so poorly written it looks like English is your second language. Or fourth.

I don't understand, everything you've said points to you being a troll, but I don't get what you're trying to do here. I've never understood the /b/tards of the world : /

Maybe I'm to old.

Shiari, wheather you feed live or not you should take your snake to the vet. There are parisites that can actually survive freezing.( But far fewer) I feed my Bandit Live she wont eat f/t or preKilled). Its rare but it happens, Always try to get your snake on the f/t or prekilled it is safer. I have seen a snake gets it eye bitten when the snake was constricting a mouse.
As far as muscle tone, All the others in my collect get freshly killed and my tongs work great, I actually will still hold the mouse with the tongs, when the snake grabs it, for a second or two to make them think it is fighting back then release the critter.

I know a lot of people who feed live just be prepared if one of your snakes gets hurt. Have a local reptile vet number handy. There is a lot to be said for a good reptile vet.

Trust me, she knows, and she does. We are lucky enough to have an EXCELLENT herp vet quite nearby, and Shiari and I have both made good use of his knowledge on many occasions.

The most EDUCATED and KNOWLEDGEABLE keepers feed thawed (or fresh killed).
The ignorant, lazy, cruel and uncaring feed live.

you cant say that. some good breeders feed live and breed their own food. its not about knowledgeable its about preference. if they feel that they can feed their snake live safely they should be allowed to do so. it doesnt mean you have to follow in their footsteps. a lot of people with very healthy animals feed live, maybe by luck, or maybe under close supervision and with experience their animals have stayed healthy and safe. im not saying feeding live is safe. but i prefer f/t while someone else prefers live. im not gonna be a johovas witness and come to your door preaching my religion. and thats that. lol. i know this seems like a rant, it really isnt. its just a pretty defensive standpoint to stand up for live feeders, from a f/t feeding kind of guy. i know some people do it, and it doesnt bother me that they make their choice. as long as their willing to accept the circumstances of injury or death. and big vet bills and parasites. i like parasite free and safe from surgery. and the ease of going into a freezer, opening up a bag, re vaccume sealing it and having dinner ready in a couple hours with some hot water.

just my .02 i think im done here.

edit: starsevol, i didnt quote you to bash what you said either. only did it to make a point that i had in my head, and not read the rest of the replies and drama throughout this long thread. just thought id say that cause your good folk to me.

Well, see....not to argue, but it seems to me that the most EDUCATED and KNOWLEGABLE people, are the ones who avoid parasites, big vet bills, injury and death....am I right?
Plus, I am wicked concerned about how our hobby is viewed by others. All over America groups are trying to ban the ownership of reptiles, and to me, feeding live when you can feed thawed makes herp keepers look like bloodthirsty animal killers. Snakes look like more "normal" pets if they don't require live food. Why give ammo to the ones who want to destroy us?

I'm somewhat between the two. My BP wont eat anything f/t but he'll eat them stunned, which I do because I would rather he not get injured. I guess they're technically "fresher" than a f/t but at the same point in time they can carry parasites that are killed off when a mouse is frozen.
As for your snake being "healthier" than anyone elses, they're probably more or less the same. Perhaps a bit stronger, but I've never read any scientific fact about this, makes sense though. But I know that my corns can eat f/t or small live prey, they have no difficulty with either.
