Fav movies?

Movies I enjoy....

Planet of the Apes

Good one. I had put off watching this movie for a very long time...thinking it was something I would not like. I finally saw it on TV and it was great so I bought the whole box set of movies (return, escape from, etc....). Of course the original is the best.

I could NEVER name just 5!!

I see some on your lists that I hadn't thought about in quite a while - brings back memories!

When I was a kid, I LOVED 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Swiss Family Robinson - must have seen them each at least a dozen times or more. I saw them both as adults, and they were still pretty good.

I LOVED most of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies, and also Crocodile Dundee. We both (Bill and I) enjoyed the James Bond movies, but I would not put them right up at the top. I like adventure movies with a little humor, such as True Lies, and some of the other Cal. governor movies. And, low brow as it is, I have to admit I almost fell out of my chair while laughing through Borat, and also Something About Mary. Maybe not in my top 5 or even 10, but sure did enjoy them.

Being a Libertarian, of course I liked V for Vendetta.

Of course, who doesn't love the old classics like Gone with the Wind? But as much as I liked MOST of Old Yeller, the ending was just TOO SAD for me.

Wow - there are just too many to name that were enjoyable, and that I would like to see again. We just watched the first 2 Lord of the Rings movies again on DVD, and they were even better this time around.

Some very good, but maybe not great, movies I have seen in the past year or so include Gran Torino, I Am Legend, and...I know I did see some fairly good ones lately...just can't quite remember...will think on it a bit, lol!

I have seen so many junky movies the last few years that it is nice to remember the "better than average" up to the "really great" ones.

Boy I rambled! Here is a short quick list for those who don't want to read the novel below.

1. Babe (the original one)
2. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
3. Better Off Dead
4. Princess Bride
5. Eddie Izzard's "Dressed to Kill" (not really a movie)
6. Star Wars seris
7. Jason Bourne seris

I'm not sure if I should count the movies that moved me the most or the movies that I watch over and over. I find the really moving, make you think movies are never as good the second time so it's hard to come up with a favorite. So here are some in the later part of the catagory...

OK so I know I'm a dork BUT I admit. "Babe" is my all time favorite movie. (Ya, the one with the little pig) I can't stand any of the sequels but I just LOVE the original. To me it makes me laugh and the underlying morel just makes me happy. Don't judge, and don't ignore your weird yearnings.

I've probably seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail 10 times more than I've ever seen any other movie. At one point I could not sleep unless it was on in the background. I usually made it to the witch scene and passed out. On a bad night I'd get to the castle Anthrax, on a really rough night I'd watch the whole thing.

Better off Dead and Princess Bride are also two that I never get sick of.

Not really movies but you do watch them on TV and they are about 2 hours... I LOVE Eddie Izzard, especially Dressed to Kill.

All the Star Wars and the Jason Bourne seris are also big favorites.
