...and there's the local dialect problem as well. In my regional accent:

Butter = "Budder"
Classic = "Claaasic"
Lavender = "Laaavinder"
Ultra - "Ultrer"
Stripe = "Stroipe"
Normal = "Not from round 'ere"

Back on track...I chose "anery" as I really do love anything with anery in it..."plain" anerys, ghosts, dilute anerys, granites, ultramel anerys, ice, coral ghosts, all in any pattern. I love other morphs as well, but looking at my collection, anery combos are on the top of the list.

Now to go :-offtopic again, there is all this talk about the misspelling of and then the pronunciation of "Okeetee", yet no one has made mention of the other misspelled morph name..."carmel". I see this one frequently as well, but it's "caramel", not "carmel". Click here!

And the strangest pronunciation of a word that I have heard is that of a street in New Orleans. While most of the world would pronounce "calliope" correctly, the natives of that city say "cal-ee-ope"..."cal" as in California, "ee" as in Okeetee, and "ope" as in dope.

Yes "strajp" and "nårmal" are "grejt" in my language.

Would a mod mind taking the poll down. My awful spelling has caused all sorts of problems.
It's just people here having fun with pronunciations, we get silly like that sometimes!
My favourite morph doesn't exist yet, but if I'm lucky I'll have diffused christmas hypo corns this year...........

This is good stuff. No offense intended toward anyone. Just good discussions with some fun thrown in. Which makes this forum so great!

I like the poll! We don't care that much about the spelling, we're just goofy, and I think it brought about an interesting conversation on morph names.

Actually, if it hasn't existed already, I would someday like to see a poll with just the single morphs listed, no combos, and have people pick just their one favorite, no multiple selections. I'd like to see what favorite dominates (be it favorite by looks, favorite to work with and add in projects, however they want to pick their own favorite). This poll comes pretty close to that.

I agree - this thread is both interesting and amusing, with no problems caused. The best of all worlds! Heaven knows I've seen far worse spelling than that. As Heather said, we're just having a bit of fun. No criticism is intended and I'm sorry if that's how it seemed.

A poll on which morphs I don't care for would be a shorter list for me!

I think a little dash of blood makes everything better. Pandora is winning me over for butters. ( It was an easy conversion. I was already halfway there! ) I don't care for amels but I do have a very big, squishy spot in my heart for them. There's nothing boring normal about a classic. Anything pink or white has got to work hard to get me. And if corns came in cobalt blue, I'd have every one!

I like to try to be unique but according to this poll, I'm in with the popular crowd! How did that happen!?!?!

According to this, anyone making Diffused or Tessera Butters should be making big $$$$$$. CHA-ching!$)

I love the Lavender morphs. I really want an Orchid and a nice Opal!

I also like Bloodreds. I really really like the dark Bloodreds most of all though.

Welcome to this place. Threads never go away, they just get older and work their way down to the bottom of the pile, until one day when someone resurrects one. You're fitting in just fine, brought us some smiles, disrupted our days. All admirable qualities. Please keep up the good work.
Cheers,

How about Choir and Chair? Change one vowel, and it changes the sound.

BUT! 2 EE's together NEVER, and I mean NEVER sound like "ah" or "uh".

Ever....

At all.

It's ok. I'm just as strict with the word "betta" (as in the fighting fish.) Most people don't realize it but when they betta they referring to the genus Betta. Betta splendens are the fish you usually see in stores. Now this name is in Latin, like all scientific names. Betta is pronounced "bet-uh". But sooooo many people say "bay-tuh"... "bay-tuh ". Is how you pronounce another Latin word, beta. So no it is not personal preference its a completely different word! D:<

When I took Latin in high school, the class went from about 20 my first year, to 4 the second year and 3 the third. But I have always been able to translate (mostly) and correctly pronounce all those Latin derived words in medicine and taxonomy as a result, although I have forgotten how to conjugate the verbs.
