From two weird parents come . . . weird babies!

Weird yearling

On a snowy day in NY, I am basically housebound so had a few minutes to snap some pictures. My good friend Catherine generously sent me one of her "weird" babies to grow up, and here he is 9 months later. He is amazing, I've never seen a corn snake that looks like this - the coloration and pattern are quite distinct. These pictures don't do him justice - everyone who has seen him in person does a double take and says "what the heck is that?"

I only have the one male (Catherine sent me a distantly related female with him) but my plan all along was to make a scaleless version of this guy. Will probably take about 5 years at this point, but I am a patient man.

Thanks again, Catherine!

Weird yearling

Don't really know - it is interesting that Catherine got several hatchlings that look like this, but until it can be replicated through breeding trials, which will take years, it is just a really different looking corn snake.

ahh well I hope it succeeds because they are beyond stunning... I am very impressed with the breeder work you guys do. btw re you going to be in the suffolk expo next Sunday? I took a day off to go and drool over all the reptiles. MAYBE add a corn or two... just want to know if I should hold on to my wallet until I find your table...
