How pure must a corn be to be truely pure?

Bringing in the glo-fish genes would definitely get me more interested in selling the, imo, worthless night bulbs for herps at work.

That's ice cream for lt dan. Btw lol

Speaking of btw...what's with the red text? :crazy01: :bomb:

I remember a thread showing corns of varying types with the invitation to say which displayed 'hybrid markers'. Turns out most identifications were wrong. I also remember bloodreds were originally thought to have derived from crossing corns with everglades ratsnakes. I don't think hawks were implicated though.

All gray ratsnakes carry the ultra gene,
Just like all wild cornsnakes are het for golden, copper, kastanie, rosy, miami, stripe, motley, palmetto, tessera, pied, dilute, lava, sunkissed, amel, cremesicle, diffused, cinder, icecream, dissension, charcoal, caramel and anery, redundancy, horse-beating, strawberry & panda & aztec, I'm guessing some of you missed that thread, I'm too busy with less important matters to do the searching to find the link to it right now.

Was it this one??

Well played Sir, well played.
Not to confuse bubblegum ratsnakes with bubblegum cornsnakes,
though cornsnakes are ratsnakes but not all ratsnakes are red ratsnakes.
If you go back far enough, all life on Earth is related. Which may explain why humans and potatos and fruit flies have some of the same genes. Kinda surprised Raptor Jesus hasn't made an appearance on this thread.

If I recall incorrectly yet choose to make a smartypants statement online to be procreated & regurgitated for decades to come, it seems that back in the early to mid 1980's someone bred a wild-caught amel emoryii to a wild-caught amel gutatta, thus producing an entire clutch of NON-amel "classics", and then in the F2 sib X sib generation, orange or red or orange-red candycanes came out. (So there's 2 different amel genes?). Of course this paragraph is a regurg of info I've picked up from forums.
I'll have to dig out the abacus to track down the original stone tablet post, because that's what we used to use to communicate over long distances before the PC and interwebs existed.

I'm really not sure which is worse: (1) We are all mutant hairless descendants of monkeys, or (2) we are all the inbred descendants of Adam and Eve, or (3) we were purposely genetically modified (and PURPOSELY limited) creatures made by aliens (who got tired of us and left) to be their slaves.

We were likely a food source until we became genetically modified. :sidestep:

I think what I've personally gleaned from this debate is that something is pure even when someone confesses to using hybrids to create the ultra when that hybrid has affected sufficient pocket books so to speak as it is easy enough to throw up enough smoke or bs if you'd rather to confuse the issue and the bottom line appears to be the dollar when it comes down to purity in such cases. My personal take on it is simply this, feel free to call me Forest if denigrating me helps to foster a sense of well-being and superiority on your part. I don't need it. I can see through subterfuge.
