A quick update on Sweets:
Found some poo stuck to the side of his water dish on Saturday. Funny how a grown up can be happy to see snake poo!
Measured his length, he's just under 7". My ex has a digital scale left over from Pinewood Derby days, hoping to get it from him and not have to spend more money right now!
I fed him again last night. I got to watch, and it took forever! He ate it tail first, and it seemed like one of the back legs was poking out and really slowed him down. Once he ingested it, I opened the deli cup to check on him. There was a little bloody looking fluid in the bottom. I hope it's mouse juice and not a split lip. Once he got it all the way in his mouth, he was quick to move it down into his stomach!
Also, we got him out to play on Monday evening. We let him crawl around on the futon for about 15 minutes. BJ even picked him up! I told him not to squeeze him, and don't leave him dangling in the air. I think he just wanted to see how it felt and to test his bravery! Mostly, they just let him crawl over their fingers and along their arms.
We are enjoying him a lot, and my mom even said she "might" hold him. Her idea of a snake has been some 6 foot long beastie that will squeeze the life out of her! When she saw his picture with the soda can, and realized how little he is... I'd say she's getting much braver, she even held our leo this summer. (But she's much happier with the parakeet!)
