Introducing Adrian! (DUW)

I agree with J9 and Danielle. Hoosier sir you are entitled to your opinion just the same as David. You have now stated your position on David's thread. We probably don't need to persue it any further.

I love this...he gets to be opinionated and hijack other peoples threads and we've all just what....grown to accept it I guess?

No I don't agree with keeping W/C animals simply because there are already too many in captivity to warrant it. I would be more willing to accept it if people like him weren't the one's doing it. David, what happens when you grow up and your mommy stops paying for everything for you. The electricity, the animals, the food for the animals. What happens to them then?

I guess people here have grown immune to his ignorance...however I have not.
This is probably my farewell then, as I am sure I'll get banned...

I doubt you will be banned. I think all of us here grew up catching snakes and bringing them home. I don't see a problem with kids doing that. David is 17, he may not be a kid any longer but he is still a young man exploring his love of snakes. I don't see him raping mother nature.

Again, I think you are entitled to an opinion. I don't think you are entitled to run this into the ground on His thread.

It is all right to express your opinion on WC snakes, or cropping pitbull ears, or cohabitation. It is not all right to post abusive insults to other members. If anyone has any questions, see the stickies in the New Members Forum, among other places.

Thank you for your cooperation!

David's mom gives him a home for his snakes, but other than that he is the one buying the food, heat tape, and reptile supplies which all of us can relate too as most of us kept snakes as a child. The morphs we enjoy now are all efforts that stemmed from gene mutations that came from WC species and while I don't agree with collecting endangered species black rats are very common around here:)

The problem with WC snakes, which I am sure David is aware of, is that they are likely to carry parasites or have other unknown problems. It is true that many species of reptiles are plentiful in the wild, and the wild population probably won't miss just one, especially if that one was saved from certain death. However, speaking from my own experience, WC snakes can be problematic in terms of health and/or diet. I, personally, would rather save myself the heartache of a death down the road, having experienced the untimely deaths of two WC snakes myself. I would encourage David to get a fecal to the vet at his first chance, to see what kinds of parasites Adrian is harboring, and to get proper treatment for her.

SO am I wrong then too, for my one wild caugh Lyre Snake??? Noone breeds these snakes and I cannot buy one online.. Also... Cornsnakes and all the other snakes in captivity come from WC bloodlines originally..
There is a big difference between taking in one or two WC snakes and taking every wild snake you find.. And it is legal in a lot of states to collect snakes in the wild.. And it is also ILLEGAL in many states to rerelease a WC snake after its been in your posession for a small amount of time.. Idk I just dont see it as a big deal... And yes David can be a pain in the butt at times, but he has tried and has gotten better over time.. And he is still young with a lot to learn about himself and the world around him.. But at least he is willing to try and realise his mistakes now..
And no you wont get banned... You are just voicing your opinion... But we have heard it now and the whole thing can be dropped.. If you want to continue it... Go start a thread on the morality of keeping wild caught snakes..

Thanks guys! I just came back from a night at the race track. I met with Alan there and I had a good time! Thanks for the support guys. She is doing very well and has a huge tub and will be getting her first feed tonite. Hoosierherps I suggest you know your facts before talking. My mom simply gives me a room to have snakes in. Everything else is all me!

She is a beautiful animal David!
I have done many W/C rescues also and see no issue as
long as the prior mentioned precautions are taken.
I even got an approx 15yr old (per the vet) Rosy Boa
given to me by animal control officers. And an older Pacific
Gopher I rescued after being called by Police.

Some people need to get over themselves and relax.. LOL

Great Save David!

That is nice, David! Almost all black.
I'm surprised it's bitey, though. It probably won't do that for too long.

LOL very fun... My lyre snake likes to bite me too.. She used to be nice but I guess I made her mean by teasing her with her food to get her off of geckos...
