The problem with WC snakes, which I am sure David is aware of, is that they are likely to carry parasites or have other unknown problems. It is true that many species of reptiles are plentiful in the wild, and the wild population probably won't miss just one, especially if that one was saved from certain death. However, speaking from my own experience, WC snakes can be problematic in terms of health and/or diet. I, personally, would rather save myself the heartache of a death down the road, having experienced the untimely deaths of two WC snakes myself. I would encourage David to get a fecal to the vet at his first chance, to see what kinds of parasites Adrian is harboring, and to get proper treatment for her.
