My last word about the subject if I can disable the Vistor message system ( see below, This is the other feature that anoyed the crap out of me ) but not the friends list system. Sorry Roy you are a good friend but dont blow smoke up my butt. I aint buying it and are not asking a lot. Just to have the oppiton to dissable the friends list system. Thats too much to ask for. Give me a break

Come on guys, there's no need to wind the guy up when he's upset as it is.... Lets all go back to our corners and let Vin and Deano and Rich sort this out... We ain't adding anything constructive to this... Only fuel to a fire....
 
I don't see anyone else complaining about this new feature...why is it such a big deal? If you don't like it or don't want to use it then IGNORE IT like everyone else has suggested...
All this hassle for ONE person who is not happy about it when the rest of the members here seem to have no qualms about it - a little ridiculous don't you think? There is no way that Rich can make every single person on this forum happy 100% of the time but he sure does his best to make this the best site around and yet you have to keep raising a stink about this...

This site does not revolve around your wants or needs so just give it a rest already.

I'm truly sorry, but you know what . . . if you're going to whine and complain and stomp your foot and cry about things . . . stand by your words. ;) This entire thread is predicated on vinster upset about the friends system . . . yet he accepted friend requests!!!??? :eek: (They're removed now, but they were there.)

BECAUSE IT'S NOT AN AUTOMATIC OPTION IN THE NEW VBULLETIN SCRIPT. RICH WOULD HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY FOR A CUSTOM MOD TO DO THAT. WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?

Dean pointed out rather nicely that if you want it so bad, why don't you foot the bill for the programming of it. Why isn't what Rich does for us on his dime good enough for you?

Even when my kids went through their "terrible twos" they certainly didn't behave this childishly. Grow up man and realize the world does NOT revolve around the Vinman! GEESH..
 
The thing is Vin made a statement in the OP... If no one had replied it would of died there... Every response that said, get over it, allowed Vin to post back...... I know Vin as do some of you old timers... And I thought it would go this way.... I've had a laugh on this thread and cracked a few funnies (well I thought they were anyway) but I think the time has come to stop responding to Vin.... If we keep telling him to let it go and get over it, he will dig his heels in more... So can we all let it go, or are we going to dig our heels in as well..... Like Vin said.. This will bring back the bad old days, and if we don't back off I guess he was somewhat right in that statement....

And look at the nice little message I got from the vinster.. I think he doesn't realize that no matter what he would have to offer. I wouldn't be buying. I choose to work with professionals not whineyass babies.

I'm not getting into any arguments with anyone over this... But adding fuel to the fire isn't going to help the situation... We can all read what he said, and see what he done, reiterating the point isn't really helping matters.....

But Mike, I've also come to see you as a no BS kinda guy. You call it like it is. And quite honestly, I personally see waffling as a character flaw. If you're going to waffle on something as mindless and petty as "stomp my foot, I'm leaving cause I don't like you guys", than dagnabbit, do what you said. Otherwise, how's your story going to change when it comes to something a little more serious or important?!?! That's my problem with the whining statements.

I respect the Vinsters fire and passion for cornsnakes, but do what you say and say what you mean.

I have not been here long enough, but for the past 4 months, I did not see any of his posts and the website was pretty friendly.

Is this what happens when all the babies are out of the eggs and just growing?
 
And we all know that if we go away now, he may calm down in the cold light of day.
Or we can get the Vinman fired up and probably never see him here again
 
Actually, I don't mind the new feature, even though I'm an old lady and change is hard to adjust to.
At first I was like "what the heck did Rich do now?" :)
Then I kind of figured things out, even though I have never been on myspace or facebook or anything like that.....

Anyway, I saw the friends feature and well, I am a bit socially awkward, both online and irl (just ask Dean, lol). I am rather fond of many of you, this place is my online home, but I kind of expected to sail along unnoticed and "friendless". I never was one of the "cool kids", ya know? Anyway, I started getting "friend" requests, some from people I've only talked to once or twice! It was quite unexpected really, and made me smile.

It's a silly little thing, but a NICE silly little thing!
