Keeled's Scales 2014 Hatchling Thread

AWESOME PICTURES, MITCH!!!

I love those lemons! If everything goes right I should hatch some of these during the next days :)

Lots of thanks!

Gorgeous babies!! Are you planning on letting go of the Sunkissed 66% ph amel cinder motley or the aberrant patterned SK? (Hint, hint) LOL

I might let go of the sunkissed in a year or so, but for right now I really want to see how this one progresses. As for the aberrant sunkissed that one's all yours if you want it. Just shoot me a PM.

I squealed at the cuteness all the way through! Big congrats on these beauties!
Huge congrats on some outstanding babies!!!

Thank you both!

............sandstone ???

Walt, I'm pretty sure it's sandstone...but if it is it's one of the densest sandstones I've come across.

Beautiful snakes!

The charcoal motley is lovely. Very clean sides and I don't know if this is an accurate color cuz I would have expected less brown, but on my monitor it is showing up very chocolately and positively looks yummy!

I also like that aberrant SK. The interesting patterns always catch my eye. That one has some nice borders too.

The color is spot on! I really like the little guy too! As for the aberrant sunkissed, I noticed the borders too; super clean.

Those Lemons are REALLY cool!
This charcoal motley is soooo stunning !!!! I love it

Thank you very much for the kind words!

Will you be selling the Blizzard? How much are you asking? I get dibs!

She will be needing a new home...so just send me a PM if you'd like.

Mitch,

Sorry but I could not resist......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxrzmroRL-s

That Charcoal Motley TOPS.....Wow. Look forward to seeing more of those.

Take care!

Orlando

Haha, that was great! Unfortunately, that's the only charcoal motley I'll have this year so whomever winds up with it should be happy.

AWESOME PICTURES, MITCH!!!

I love those lemons! If everything goes right I should hatch some of these during the next days

Good luck to you, as I'd love to see more lemons out there. Best thing though is I love switching to a different background than the white!

Some more post-shed shots

Here's a gorgeous little topaz from the clutch that produced the topaz motleys.

This is a sunkissed from a tessera-sired clutch. It's so clean.
Sunkissed_zpsb37b6513.jpg

Because my tessera only turned out to be het sunkissed and not caramel too, I need to hold back a few sunkissed tessera het caramel so that in a few years I'll finally see that honey tessera. These two are probably here to stay!

Darn it...let's try this again!

Okay, so I was narrating my pip pics...and then my computer froze. Sooooo, sorry, here's the much-shortened version of what I had written before.

Could it be?

Clutch #2 of sunkissed tessera!
SunkissedTesseraClutch_zpsb1e8c6a4.jpg

The first out of the clutch of nine is a sunkissed anery motley. I got my first twins from this pairing last year.
SunkissedAneryMotley_zpsfd60881d.jpg

Speaking of twins...I do believe these are twin lavas! If there's only one body then the heads are not attached. Better yet, the head on the right has a clearly visible egg tooth.

Those sunkissed tesseras are just amazing. I guess I must have never seen one before a few days ago, cuz I'd never noticed how wackily wonderful their patterns are! Lots of other nice babies too, but those really catch my eye. Those and that chocolatey charcoal motley I already commented on.

I think I nailed it!

Okay, so I'm a little stoked right now. Last year I was given a juvenile trio of classic corns het amel cinder motley sunkissed. Those are the ONLY genes at play here. So both females went this year...and even though the odds say I should have had mostly classics, that was the morph that poked through the eggs the least! One clutch was eight eggs, and the other was nine. So far there've been peppermints, shatters, cinder motleys, and now...I think I nailed the 1/256 sunkissed peppermint motley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's clearly amel. It's 100% motley. It has the sunkissed motley pattern and head. But the color is completely off for an amel sunkissed motley (NO red). It's the real deal!!!

One last parting shot of the two siblings together.

Wow! Congrats!

It is interesting that the motley gene covers up the shatter. But it does seem to make at least some sort of sense. The effects on the pattern from sunkissed and cinder are fairly subtle. Motley is a stronger effect, so it makes sense to me that it would possibly override the others.

Great looking snakes Mitch! However for that to be a Peppermint I think the color is off. A hatchling Cinder shouldn't have that much color IMO.

My guess would be regular peppermint with some sunkissed line markers. I have hatched peppermints that pink before, I just don't see shatter except for that one funky neck marking. JMO. :)

More post-sheds!

Here's a topaz with some really funky pigmentation within the saddles.

A super bright sunkissed amel.

Add one more gene and you have this sunkissed amel motley!
SunkissedAmelMotley_zpsa0b1d03d.jpg

Here's a striped amel. Het for both caramel and lava, in two years or so I should have striped lava butters.
StripedAmel_zps768a216e.jpg

Speaking about stripes...sometimes a simple striped corn is really pretty.

One of the few topaz motleys I hatched out this year. Soooo pretty!

More hatchlings!

There are simply too many snakes pipping right now! Usually there's a little down time within the hatching season...but not this year.

A clutch that has hypo bloods, granites, bloods, and ghost bloods everywhere.
BloodClutch_zps7eba28ce.jpg

Last year I was surprised to find out that my female sunkissed motley was het anery. I did the same pairing this year and nearly half the clutch of nine was sunkissed anery motleys; not bad for 1/8 odds.

A lone sunkissed anery motley with an aberrant pattern.

I love ultra-gene morphs WITHOUT the amel gene present. Therefore, what we have here is a pile of caramels and caramel motleys all het sunkissed ultra.

This is the BEST photograph I have of my cinder motley. It simply didn't want to sit still. It's pictured alongside it's peppermint and classic siblings.
