Melody Pond's Progression Thread

The Cat

New member
This little ghost is Melody Pond. She came from some good looking breeders at the Cleveland Reptile Show. I handled her three times today, and now she'll be in her viv until next week.

Melody was exploring all night and I silently watched her fall over and over again when she tried to scale the tank.

I found her all curled up today. :)

She's very pretty! Ghosts make me think of someone who makes a beautiful sketch with only a #2 pencil.

Melody Ate!!

I fed Melody for the first time today, and at first, she couldn't find the mouse... So I picked her up and showed her the mouse, and she poked it with her nose then bit it! She ate it butt first, and I was kinda excited... Not weird. Nope.

The cute thing was, her tail clung to my finger the whole time! Even when I took her back upstairs, she wouldn't let go. She was super calm and wanted to explore, not go in her viv and digest. She even tried climbing up my arm to avoid it.

But she got in her viv and decided that digesting would be nice. She's in her viv now, under some vines.

Sorry, no pictures, I was too busy being excited!

Now I have to wait a few days until I can hold her again.

She sounds so cute! :D I like her name also! If you get another snake you are gonna call her River Song? ;)

She's beautiful!

If you have Melody Pond, and River Song, you're going to NEED one called The Doctor! ;)

I know! I'm gonna need more snakes.
I also wanted to go with some Harry Potter themed names, so I think I'll need to find more room... No. No. I need to stick with one. I promised myself I wouldn't get out of control with these.

She was fed for the second time on Wednesday. I learned that she won't touch the pinky if it's the least bit wet. :p I took her out before I fed her and got some cute pics, but I'll post them later. She also had her first photo shoot, but I don't think I'll post it. It's not that cute and they're kind of dark and look dull.

No shed yet, and I check her eyes every day. I can't wait until her first shed with me!

I'll post pics soon.

Snake in a Cup!

Melody was being cute before I fed her on Wednesday, but I got her to retake it. The lump appears to be gone, or it's so little it's unnoticeable. She's not technically being handled now: she's in my lap, still in the cup. :p
I'm sorry if it's small, but it can't be THAT small.

The cup is the plastic off of one of those things that you tear off the cardboard back to get a toy or something.

Well, you cant leave out Rory!

I know! Seriously I choose one Doctor Who themed name and now I need to get more to name after other characters. Ooh, and I'll need an Amelia/Amy.

Maybe I'll get all of these imaginary snakes one day. I'll be that crazy snake lady. :p
