Fairly new band to the UK but not sure about any where else in the world.

Many artists contributed as songwriters and musicians.
 
so its like an album with a bunch of different singers and bands or is it like a tribute kinda thing or like a concert cd with lots of bands and stuff..
 
Somebody deceided to start a "project". This person envited other artist to contribute.
These artists (a lot of artists) play/write songs and they record them.
 
Started: 1997

The guy who started it, plays in a few other bands.
One of these bands has been on this Music Quiz.

And the dude is born in the year 1973

Josh Homme is the guy (QOTSA, Eagles of Death Metal, others)
The album is part of The Desert Sessions
Hard Walls And Little Trips
 
The band is from almost exactly the same geographic location where the last album came from, a couple counties over.
 
The album was released in 1997. The group disbanded in 1998 after their lead vocal and the dog on the cover died.
