Music quiz

Nice chart, I think you've got too much free time. It's interesting to see it all together like that.
CLUES?
The artist moved through genres. He started out in the 60s with an English rock band. After that he had his own group, then some solo works. His music changed to hard rock,to jazz fusion/jazz rock, and sometimes more rock like this 1989 album in question.

Entrails + Tongues + Eyeballs + Raised Fist +
Elephant + Textballoon + Bottle + Sandwich +
Ace of Spades + Pill + Tentacles + Guitars +
Leaves + Bones + Piano Keys +
Crow + Drumsticks + …

Then you've got this cover. But whos is it?
first one (darkone) original version
second oen (lightone) US/Canadian version

The band's name is different in the US/Canada too.
If they were called "The Mechanical" in the UK,
then they would be called "The Mechanical Mechanical" in the US/Canada.

A song on this album has been re-mixed into a dance track by Fatboy Slim,
and the song is also used as an anthem by some football teams.

have a crappy picture from a clip of the band.
(clip of a song on the album)

The Automatic/ The Automatic Automatic - Not Accepted Anywhere

Wow... I feel stupid for not getting it, especially because of the first clue.

Artist and Album, please...
It's quite easy, tbh.

Ah, it's been long... no one got it. I'll give more clues.. I guess.
It is the debut album by a Brighton-based Punk/Alternative band... In the band there are only 2 people, the lad plays drums and the girl plays guitar.
Oh, and they're so awesome I'm seeing them this summer... ;) (yes, that's a clue)

Ah, it's been long... no one got it.

I thought this thread was forgotten and I was going to bring it up in about a week or so.
K, it's:
Blood Red Shoes
Box of Secrets
Nice, 90's punky/alt-ish
I've never seen them live, but I saw 2-piece band White Stripes last year and neither me nor my daughter was impressed. We left before the end, didn't care for it. I think they were trying to be too "arty", instead of just relying on their rockin'. Too bad, they can both play mad rock and do quite well for just two.

Ha ha, I never quite liked the White Stripes other than a couple songs. But you have to give credit to Jack because he really is an amazing guitarist.

You got it so, it your turn..

But you have to give credit to Jack because he really is an amazing guitarist.

Credit for sure, the best thing about the concert was listening to him play several types of guitars in several styles of music. Also, Meg's a good percussionist and fills quite a bit of space with simple rythms done well, and she can hit 'em hard sometimes too.
I think they were trying too hard to be "interesting", shoulda just rocked it.

No snakes, how 'bout a fish?
Recognize this mackerel? What did I remove from it's mouth?

A US band with some #1 hits, unfortunately not on this album. A few songs from this album got heavy play on the radio but never went top 40. The band lost their guitar in '89 (he started his own, self named band) and just didn't sound the same.
This album went to #29 US. They've always been a US radio favorite and in 1981 had a #1 US album.
