My collection photo thread (HeavenHell)

Thanks Cassie.
I picked up a slate patio slab to use as a background. I think it's a bit more natural than the black or white cloth.

So here's why Thayeri Kings are also known as Variable Kings.

Hard to believe these two could be cousins.

Wow what lovely snakes and your photo skills are amazing! How in the world do you get them to hold still long enough for a photo? Most mine always turn out blurry in the head area because they just wont hold still. I take tons of picture and maybe one will turn out half decent lol!

I've had good luck placing a bowl over them for a few minutes and then lifting it off. Waving a hand in front of their faces also works on occasion. I also take a lot of photos so I'm bound to get lucky every now and again :)

I finally got a decent full body photo of Citriss. She's a female Thayeri king. She's the same snake as in my avatar pic.

Thanks to Citriss for standing still for 2 seconds!

I got a couple of new additions (2011 hatelings) coming this week.

1. Grayband Kingsnake - Dark Phase Sanderson (male)
2. Thayeri Kingsnake - Abberant Leonis (female)

I'll of course post some photos once they settle in.
I'll need some help with some names.

Hurray!

Both of my 2011's (thayeri and grayband) ate this morning for the first time. I waved a warm pinkie head in front of each and each grabbed on and swallowed it. I was a bit nervous as these guys can be tough to get started and I purchased them both out of egg.

Happy Days are here. Oh sorry, I'm a bit excited.

Introducing ? and ?

Here's a couple of breeder photos of my 2011's.

Female thayeri (I loved the leopard spots on the lower part of her body)

Male Grayband (East Sanderson locale - should darken with age)

Any suggestions for names would be appreciated.

Gosh I LOVE the peach female!!

It looks exactly like the one I was coveting from a breeder here in the UK.

Gorgeous

Dang you for adding a non corn to my collection wish list!! Your Thayeri Kings are absolutely stunning. It's cool to see how they have progressed through your beautiful portraits of them as well.

Thanks for sharing these photos with us, it's a real treat.

That female looks amazing against the blue. I think that color of blue just magically makes every snake look amazing. I'm thinking of the majority of Rich Z's awesome morph example photos, many of which were against a blue background of a similar hue.

Oh, and hey, Cornwallis looks good too! Dang, you know that the rest of your collection has GOT to be stunning for a beautiful Abbott's like him to practicly be an after thought!

PS: Do you have an update on Noodles? Is one of those snakes him? I can't tell because their genders are listed but not their names. He was the one I fell madly in love with when you first made this thread. It's cool to see that Thayeris change a lot as they grow as well!

Hi Jessica. Thanks for all the compliments.

I'll try and take an updated photo of Noodles in the next few days. He just shed last week so his looking pretty dapper. He's getting a bit darker grey now and is beginning to be peppered with black spots which is common with Thayeri as they age.

Here's one of my friends beautiful thayeri. A breeder is line breeding them in an attempt to produce a bright white snake. I think he's definitely on the right track!

This guy is very very nice and I hope to pick up something similar this year.

Jessica, here's a couple of CLOSEUP photos of Noodles from today that show the peppering (black speckles) I was talking about.
