My corn snake Ruby kills Adult male mouse.

Are you going to start the lectures Eric??.

I'll get my goggle set on the other tab then. LOL
:roflmao:

Oh...No...Lenny. And I wasn't talking about you either, Robbie. (I don't think you thought I was.)

When I was 15, and had a bedroom full of snakes, I didn't have a forum or even very many books to go by. So any advice I give about snakes is usually open-ended (non-threatening, non-"instructive", etc.), because when I was a kid I learned just about every awful thing one should not do....by first doing it.

So there, David, now you know the real story, my young friend. :D ;)

I grew up in the same time line. So you had to go by a "hit or miss theory".

Kid, first pay attention more in school and learn how to spell. Second, you should read books this late instead of staying up on cornsnakes.com past your curfew. And third, After you finish learning how to spell and use correct grammer, you should write a book about how "Thousands of people throughout the world put their snakes/pets in danger by feeding them live prey". And fourth, my animals are not your animals. To each it's own.

Wow dude, I mean really! Come on! My snakes all are either in a DIY Racking system or in a naturalistic viv! They all have an ample heat source. All my snakes get f/t mice or some of my rarer ones get f/t lizards (Herald Snake). I also breed snakes. I have bred garters, helped with BPs, and also some other live bearers. Next year I will have corns and kings. Dude I may be 15 BUT I keep snakes very well. I have a room for them (Yes I finished my herp room!) full with heat, and everything. So don't tell me I can't care for my snakes and don't post a help me thread when your snake gets it eye chommped by one of your "u tube" stunts!

Oh and BTW you tell me to respect my elders I do well the ones with common sense. If I looked up to you I would feed my snakes in a irresposible manor. Which I don't I am f/t and proud!

The real issue really isn't whether to feed your snake live or F/T, as there are many of us here that do require to feed a few of our snakes live prey. Back to the issue....feeding live and posting it on youtube with LOL at the end of the title really says it all. Some people seem to get a thrill from watching the kill, and feel the need to show others the "thrill". Cheap thrill at best and yes, it does expose your snake to unnecessary risk of injury, but I don't go hunting around on youtube to find it. I draw my own conclusions on the husbandry skills the poster possesses.

Good for you kid.

And you say respect you elders correct you did not show any respect to the people trying to help you. Starsevol is older than you so. Respect YOUR elders!

Well put. Even myself with over 70 snakes - I do have a handful that require live feeding. But I don't video tape it, laughing while I do it, and post it online. The herp community has enough bad publicity and stuff like this is what causes more problems.

This kind of stuff is why non-reptile people hate us (someone posted something similiar to that effect earlier in this thread - Justine maybe?), and why they want to do what they can to ban us from owning reptiles.

Boils down to a simple fact - think about the BIG PICTURE when posting videos online. You want to keep reptiles in the future? Then maybe you shouldn't do anything that could potentially jeopardize that. Don't think for an instant that we are safe with keeping our reptiles. You have all seen the bans in certain cities with certain breeds of dogs. You have seen what the gov't is trying to do in banning certain reptiles from being imported and sold now in the US.

Be a responsible pet owner. If you have to feed your snake live because that is all it will eat, do it is a sensible matter reducing the risk to your snake.

Soooo... I can disrespect Starsevol? in a nice way of course. :crazy01:

For me David, this should go both ways and I should try to remember it too.

Hey there you hot surfer dude, I saw your picture. NO WAY are you older than I am!!!

And Katie, I tried to rep you and I need to spread it around. You said exactly what I was thinking, but you said it much more eloquently than I ever could.

Ask Lori or you even have my permission to get my birth date from any mod.
If they can access that from Rich ""Logs"""

I would never believe it though. LOOK at you!!
(unless they put formaldyhyde in that Jersey water, you never know!) :)
