i do have the pegs and they were in while i was holding it open in pic 2. thats why i was confused because i thought the pegs were to make it so it cant open but it still does. The pegs were in during pic 2.
not at all. if you look over to the left of the tank in my 3rd pic, it is a little plastic peg that has a unique shape to fit in the hole right, and is attached by a tie that is used to attach price tags on shirts.
Those will not work on yours. they are designed to be used on a regular tank to hold the top down I don't think you will find a place to attach them that will prevent it from sliding.
it actually has a unique shape but the hole is circular. its just a crappy prg. do you think i should get a new peg? do you want to see a pic of the peg?
this is with the peg in and the screen closed regular. notice in the front right corner how there is still a little gap, its very loose even with peg in
That peg is exactly like mine can you get a front on shot with the peg in. It is supposed to go into a hole in the front of the cage and the top can't slide past it. the hole in the bottom of the post is for a padlock.
Sorry I'm so late, I've been thinking.
I have one exactly like that as a spare, it's worn out enough that it tilts forward the same way in the front, allowing a gap at the back.
What you need to do is keep the lid from moving forward.
Buy some velcro strips with the adhesive backing. Put one piece on the lid near the back, the mating strip secure to the tank itself so that it holds the lid to the rear.
Then the adhesive on the bottom assembly is wearing out. You can reglue it to the glass. See if you can wiggle the hole the peg goes into up and down hat is the only thing I can think of that would allow it to tilt forward.
yea cool! and do that on both sides? thank you both so much for all this help. def pos rep to both of you, not that it will do to much but still. u both helped out alot and took alot of time. i will let you know how it works for me alan
A friend of mine a had a ten gallon that did not have the clips and he just turned it around against a wall so that back faced out but that was a ten gallon and not so hard to pick up.
