Very nice Nanci! I'm getting vines that color. I will probably gradually get the bendable vines too, for now I have wooden climb things from Petco.

will she calm down with regular handling i hope so because i love her to bits and i don't want her to be scared of me :(

most hatchlings start off flighty. some dont, but a lot do. with regular handling, like starting with 5-10 mins a day and increasing it over time to 15-20 mins a day she should become well adjusted soon.

My hatchling is still a bit jumpy, but she's learning to remain calm in my hand, and even coils around me now and just sort of sits and watches what my other hand is doing, lol. Your snake should calm down, just be sure that while your handling her, at least for a while, that it's just you and her in the room.
The more you hold her in your hands and nothing happens, the more she'll begin to "trust" you and your handling sessions.

well i ended up ordering exo-terra vines instead of fluker's because petco doesn't carry fluker's vines and petco is closer if i need to return them. I also got another water dish so he can have 1 on each side of the viv.

I'm still not sure what i'm going to bend the vines into but i'm sure i'll come up with something once i get them.

I know, all of the decor is so expensive! Those bendy vines aren't cheap, especially for me b/c I need 8 of everything.

I still need 2 more vines. I ordered a water bowl from Petco with my aspen and it's way smaller than I thought. I'm gonna return it. It's a kidney shaped one but it's marked as Petco brand. The other ones I get are bigger.

yeah i make sure to check the dimensions of anything i order for my tank before i buy it lol.

i caught him back on that lip again this morning. i'm starting to think he's just trying to get to the damp towel i have on top of his tank. i think i might make a humid hide for him today and see if that's all he wants.

Mine gets up there all the time, I doubt he's after the humidity, probably just trying to find an escape route!

yeah i think so too lol...i just watched him climb up there and fall off about 6 times in a 10 min period lol. lets see if i can get a picture on this darn thing without having to do any hard work lol.

Lol mine does the same thing. Its usually after I put her back after handling. She gets pretty active and i'm pretty sure wants to get out to explore all the smells lol.

I got a pic of mine up there with his head and part of his body sticking out! Silly babies.

Gosh, they have grown so much since that pic! That was when I first got him at the end of September.

My little one's do that too...it's hilarious to see them climbing up on the edges of the glass enclosure and then inch slither around the top creases of the cage, only to realize hmm..nowhere else to go, then go dropping down to the bottom of the cage just to do it all over again. It's like they are free falling/bundgie jumping or something. My adult corn Bindi still does it a lot even and he is going to be 3 yrs old in Dec. Only with Bindi , he is so big and makes a lound plopping sound when he hits the bottom of the enclosure. He's settled down in the last month but before that for a few months he was constantly at it.

Here is Joanna last night she could just fit in that space in my bathroom and had her whole body in there crawling up, it was funny.

try www.petmountain.com ! they have the same name brand stuff for significantly less than competitors, especially petco. and if your order is more than 49$ shipping is free. i got my aspen, and stuff for a lot cheaper than other sites id found, and waaaaaay cheaper than petco. they have the vines and plants and stuff too. and they come in different sizes. and theyre fairly cheap for the smaller ones, and bigger ones, in my opinion. and they give you the dimensions of everything you are looking at so you know ahead of time what youre getting.

I've purchased from there too, and Petco. With petmountain, they upcharge the freight on the big aspen bags by 1.99, I got them at Petco for less, or the same.

All of the online stores don't carry the reptavines like I want. I'll probably end up buying 2 more at the store.
