on Friday I fed my snake a pinky and right when i put him into the cage he was active the whole night which hes never done before. Im thinking this might mean hes ready for double pinks what do you guys think?

No. They will look for food even when it isn't healthy for them to eat more food. My guys are sometimes active after they eat too.

Only feed 1 and 1/2 the size of the widest girth of your snake, or weigh them and go by the Munson plan if you want something more specific.

If I'm not mistaken didn't your snake just have a couple regurges? I am pretty sure you were told what to do and how serious regurges are. After a couple of regurges you have to take things slow. Giving 2 pinkies now may mean disaster for your snake.

Ohh, that paints a different picture than what I was originally going to respond to. In a typically healthy snake, In my short experience I've found that they go to the place that is most comfortable, regardless of what I "think" they should be doing. But if you've got regurges happening, that's a whole new ballgame. I have a snake with one regurge and I'm doing everything possible to make sure a second one does not happen. Like Becky said, take things sloooow. More slowly than you typically would for a brand new snake. Above all, you're highest priority now is not creating an environment for a third regurge. That is life threatening, and not something to take lightly at all. Best wishes to you.

If you've had a regurge, please don't stress the snake by offering more food than usual. Ideally the first few meals after a regurge need to be smaller than usual - perhaps as small as half the usual amount. Don't handle the snake at all until it's successfully kept down at least one meal for at least 3 days. As Lori said, your highest priority is preventing a third regurge.

Best of luck.

Nothing to worry about if nothing else is out of the ordinary. My snake almost never goes into hides after eating hes always active. If he feels good enough to be active then I think he's okay. If he isn't regurgitating or doing something that doesn't seem right. Then don't worry about it!

If he is regurging take the normal steps that are outlined for regurgitation, and don't feed him again for about 10 days. Good luck!

no dont worry hes had 2-3 feedings after that and hes digesting just fine almost like hes back to normal of course i should still keep it slow just wanted to ask

hello all, i am pretty new to "the snake "world when i got my 1st corn snake (classic "h" amber) about 7 months ago 1 was feeding him every 4-5 days. i had 1 regurgitation, so i decided to feed him once a week and he been fine ever since just wondered how often you fed yours?

i have 3 snakes now and 2 of them are still pretty lively after been fed they go to their hides" bed" when they ready but wot a joy to watch they are :d

take care

I'm glad he's doing well after the regurges. In that case, just enjoy the extra activity! Sometimes they stay in "hunt" mode for a while, even though more food isn't what they need.

oo I feed mine every 5 days never 4 days thou and the reason he regurged was because of overlarge meal so I already know whats behind mine

My snakes usually do a 'victory lap' to help get the food down, then they cruise the tank looking for more food.
Seriously, I have a couple of juv cal kings that will eat as much as you feed them, to the point of regurg, then eat some more.
Don't offer them more than they need.

i have had days that i ate a big mac and didnt immediatley feel full, so i looked around for more food and when i didnt find any i just decided i would be fine, so about 30 mins later i get offered some more food by someone else and by then my stomach feels full so i didnt eat the other food - but i sure wanted more right after scarfing that big mac down - does that make sense or does everyone think that i'm just a fast food freak?

fast food is addicting and bad for u i believe the fact of the matter is when ur at home looking for food ur so bored that u want to eat. If you ask me go do something in ur spare time and u wouldnt be bored at home trying to find a meal to enjoy something
