New proof of aliens?

I have figured out why them thar aliens pick on us poor rednecks. They grab us up out of our pickups and take us into the mothership and buttdiddle us and then put us back in our trucks with a bottle of whiskey. That way everyone just thinks it is a drunk redneck seeing thangs. Instead of them seeing it is really aliens lol

Bob..bob..bob...bob...bob :nope:

You and your Redneck alien ButtDiddling!

:roflmao:

Nope.... Can't think of any good reasons to keep us in the dark.
Except religious belief.

If you knew there was no god... And you weren't going to spend all eternity in hell for being bad.... I would imagine most humans would be bad. It's in our nature.

By keeping "god" intact, you keep "control" of the masses to a greater extent.

Other than that, no good reason. Actually, this isn't much of a good reason either!

I'm sorry, but... tell that to atheists. The prisons are not overflowing with atheists who think they can pillage and murder to their hearts content because they don't believe in an afterlife, yet there are plenty of religious people in prison for really heinous crimes.

And no, I'm not personally an atheist, but my religion does not have eternal punishment, and I am certainly not being an evil jerk because of it.

I like your statement about organized religion, Rich. There's a certain truth to that, and it can be applied to many things outside of religion as well.

Well, you'd have to believe we are that exception. Yes, the odds of life forming in an environment that didn't previously have life are pretty minuscule. But in our vast and ever-expanding universe, I believe the odds that we are that exception, and that it only occurred once, are statistically staggering.

$.02

Based on?
I mean... your opinion is of course respected and everything... but really, consider it.
If it only happened once... the life form that rose will be the one asking these questions. To ask "why us" is not a logical question... because we might very well be the product of that one time when, over a span of eons, something with really small chance of success happened.

We can't calculate the likelihood of life... some scientists even argue that life might actually be the natural course of events for certain molecules... others persist that it is even likely that we're a singularity.

So... it's down to opinion... but I think that we know enough to say that one probability is bigger than the other at this point.

:)

Never said I had all the answers. In my quote, I did say "Actually, this isn't much of a good reason".

But, more to your comment.

Line them up. Atheist, Christian, Muslim, or Wiccan.......

I'd Gladly tell each and every group....

We Aren't Alone!!!!

But, as stated above.... I know about as much as everyone else, on the subject.
